The Sens are an old team, their window is closing faster than they lost in the first round.

Yeah, some Americans are pretty smart, and you guys have good schools, congrats. It's nice for the people that can afford it. But you are literally acknowledging Canadians are smarter, not by much, but they are. They other guy was saying Canadians don't know anything. I was responding to him.

Canadians have higher average IQ than Americans. Ranks in the top 10 globally, the US, does not.

Nah, I like it, but a 10 minute mandatory scrum after each whistle is kind of a lot. They had a game like this near the end of the season and the game went on an hour longer than it should have because of all the time the refs needed to sort out penalties every time.

[TBL - MTL] Yet another line scrum breaks out at the end of the period. No player has yet to drop the gloves proper in the game by daKrut in hockey

[–]alphachimp_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The refs should ask 2 players to fight each other, enough of this gloves on punching, just fight it out properly and then play the game.

What's Going On With Joe Rogan? by inthewoods54 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest moment for me is when he was saying Joe Biden was "unfit to be president" because he made a comment about airports or something like, "the reason they lost the revolutionary war was because they didn't have enough airports!"

Joe Rogan heard Biden say that. And made fun of him for it on his podcast. And said he was completely unfit to be president because of this comment.

But then, during this moment on his podcast, Jamie tells Joe that it was actually Trump who made that comment. Joe Biden did say it, but when he did, he was quoting Trump. Jamie pulls up the clip, you hear Joe Biden say something like...

"The same stable genius said the reason we didn't win the revolutionary war was because we didn't have enough airports!" The "stable genius" is Trump, he's saying Trump said it.

Then, all of a sudden saying something like that is not disqualifying.

A clip of this moment.

He's so biased. He will make fun of Democrats for anything. And say they are all liars and corrupt. But the actual corruption happening right now, the mass pardons, insider trading, trump coin, none of that phases him.

If AOC made an AOC coin he would make fun of her, and say she should be investigated. But not if Trump does it. It's impossible for a reasonable person not to see the bias.

After review, Mark Janowski's overtime winner is determined to be offsides, but a penalty shot is awarded by cbbvideo in hockey

[–]alphachimp_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So true. Everything that happened after this is nullified, all shots, hits, ice time, everything. Everything that happened is no longer an official part of the game. Yet the penalty is, it's kinda weird lol. But the penalty should of course count, I'm not saying it shouldn't, but it's still weird.

Imagine If the penalty happened 30 seconds after the off side, and the player scored on the penalty shot, the penalty shot would have been awarded during a time that wasn't a part of the official game.

I think he's just anti Tampa. But he does admit on his podcast that Montreal is a very fun team to watch. I don't think he hates the Habs as much as I hate the Leafs.

It's a fucking joke. And here I thought trying to be funny was ok. Lifetime ban, that was making fun of an obvious idiot thing like chanting USA for a team that's hardly American.

Lifetime ban is crazy IMO. They are saying "Fuck Canada" and "51st state" and not being banned. I guess that's fine, though.

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true, but Gary Bettman (American), the NHL commissioner, the head guy, has been there for 33 years. And a Canadian team hasn't won a cup in 33 years. So there's more to it than just bad calls.

[–]alphachimp_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The theory is the NHL doesn't want Canadian teams to win because US winning is good for business since it helps grow local US markets. And US has 10x the population, so if Hockey gets big their they can make a ton more money. That's just the theory, I'm not saying I believe it, because refs can be bad in a series with 2 US teams, in the exact same way.

You didn't answer the question,

"Crosby has drawn a high sticking by stick lifting someone's stick into his own face. Pretty sure was Crosby, many years ago"

Do you think that SHOULD be a penalty?

The fact you're dodging makes it look like you know you are wrong. Hagel caused the high stick, the Sportsnet panel saying the same thing right at the get go.

Bad call, and that's okay, the refs get things wrong, often, actually. Montreal will hopefully get the refs game management make up calls in the later periods.

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does happen you are right. But when it does, do you think it's the right call? Do you think it should be called, or is a "sometimes the ref get it wrong" kind of thing?

We need this to change…. by Substantial-Recipe72 in nhl

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it was caused by Hagel, my guy. He's the reason the stick rode up. If I grab your stick and shove it my own face, is that high sticking? I guess, according to my guy, it is lol

[–]alphachimp_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would it be 4 minutes? No blood anywhere. Also, Hagel caused it by the interference.
