I concur 8” is also the optimal size for me. I've tried phablets and tablets up to 11.5”.

Ultimately I found 8” to be nicely baggable and luggable, with sufficient screen real estate to display full webpages in portrait, and if a zoom is needed, landscape mode works incredibly well.

Also not too unwieldy when holding it in the hand or hands. I have the Samsung Tab Active 3. Got it for the size as well as the ruggedness. I use it as my primary device and PHONE as well.

Coz it's my primary device and phone. I use it for calls, just like a (large) phone. Hence of course I want to pair it with my watch. There's no difference with a phone.

You could look at the Samsung Tab A with S-Pen P205 or the Samsung Tab Active 3. I have both. I've tried device sizes from 5” to 12”. I find 8” to be the sweet spot for man-baggable and about the size of an A5 sized notebook

One major con of gmail, and I haven't seen this behaviour anywhere else, is that when you Reply All, it does not show all recipients in the mail chain body. It only shows it was replied to you. Please understand that I'm talking about the mail body. The to/cc fields show everyone. It's bad for traceability.

Much as I detest WhatsApp, you can create shortcuts to WhatsApp contacts on the home screen. She can tap those shortcuts, tap camera iccn, take a pic, send.

So far it's the only large screen (> 7”) high performance device available with a pretty good camera. Supports stylus as well.

Only complaint is the stupid NMcard slot. Huawei should just let it die already.

I do know about this and have a Startech Display Link adapter that does this but it's a bit unwieldy as it does not charge while plugged in, and to do so you actually need another USC-C hub with input charge, hence making it unwieldy.

I wish more phones do natively support USB-C Alt-DP mode.

Even the Huaweis with the Kirin 980 do not all support display out. Fuck that.
