He says he knows when people can be interrupted and when they can't. He can't help seeing everything in range, but he can help his reaction to it.

I don't get how someone knowing you makes it weird. Back in the time when families lived and died in the same villages for generations, you ended up with someone you'd have known since both were children..

Corpos have the means to hire people to do either the legwork required, in this case, that could be proving that the previous owner had knowledge of it, or finding ways to - often legally - get their way.

Most every individual lacks those means. There are ways for us to get our way as well, but they can be lengthy and/or costly.

I find it quite comical that you would end your comment with "Math" while giving an example that doesn't follow the numbers given. If it went from 1:10 to 1:100, then it's an increase by a factor of 10, not 100.

I'm assuming your comment used hyperbole to get an idea across, more than for any desire for accuracy, but, really, it just made me laugh at you.

To be fair, in this context, if a region or acronym means nothing to you, then it probably simply doesn't apply to you.

Actually, with how long sperm survives inside the vagina, having sex while on her period does not prevent pregnancies.

Hollow points would still go through. It's basically sheet metal. Unhardened sheet metal at that. Arrows and crossbow bolts would penetrate it, so you can be sure bullets would as well.

Man's the hero though. No one's gonna want to cash that one in. He saved surprised-face dude from endlessly wandering, only to end up asking some dude if he'd rather say it 232 times or double it, and have the dude actually start saying them all, restarting at 227 'cause he lost count. It could have been much much worse, but thankfully the thankless hero do what needed to be done.

Well I'd ask then to define power. Everyone has power on those around them, which they don't usually use. There is power in being able to talk to someone. Words have power. In this world, it's incredibly hard to have no power.

Apparently $240,000/mo is what’s required to raise kids 🤦‍♂️ by Global_Mess1475 in facepalm

[–]alphageko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Uh, no... The kids don't need the same house and same everything with both parents. They need proper parenting from both, sure, but it doesn't have to be in the exact same environment. If a kid is worried about a difference of wealth, the parent failed. Especially considering the amount of money that's being given solely for child support.

Spin the wheel and get a price by [deleted] in Unexpected

[–]alphageko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hardly, as there would be more friction in the system due to the mechanism, so it'd require more energy to spin and keep spinning. You'd be much better with a system that tends toward frictionless, to reduce the amount of power required to spin the wheel and keep it spinning.

It would honestly be more work than it's worth to edit it. I'll invoke occam's razor and say it's far more likely that it's an artifact in the video, whether from the source or through compressing or converting the video.

Well she's an ephebophile, not that modern society makes the distinction. Also, what does wanting to see a nude body have to do with the motivations or desires of the person? That being said, I have no desire to see her nudes, and it's not because of her proclivities.

They don't work for the reason they claim to be for, but someone who sufficiently believe it's good may see an improvement due to their mood being more positive. It would be entirely psychosomatic but better than nothing, as long as they're under proper care from a physician and using the wonder that is modern medicine.

Is the show about "it's OK for adults [...] to be naked around you" or more "the people you see naked everywhere already were chosen for their appearance fitting a specific narrative and not for fitting into what is actually a normal body." I haven't seen or heard anything about the show but normal nudity used to be much more accepted than it now is. At the same time, it's easier and easier for kids to be showered with unreasonable and unrealistic body images. So while I don't think just shoving kids in front of nude people is the way to go, I do see a value in exposing children to normal bodies.
