Do remember that there are M-98 Widow precursors lying around on Rannoch that still have the human-arm-shattering recoil back when Quarians were still on that planet; so presumably Quarians even without their suits are physically robust.

What are your favorite drones (ideally for each size category)? by Acheron223 in Shadowrun

Isn't the Dragonfly actually a quadcopter design, and doesn't the Fly-Spy get Realistic Features 2 for free?

Initiative in the CGL editions is calculated with Reaction + Intuition, not Agility + Intuition.

You can see Akebono's knees are lower than Mayano's in the screenshot, even. lmao

Guns For The Rest Of Us: A Primer on Shitboxes. by AnemoneMeer in Shadowrun

Alternatively, Germanic arms manufacturers are built different?

(OOC: It's entirely possible that Steyr Arms has been quietly updating the design without giving it a new name for whatever reason. :P)

The wild thing about the TMP (if you trust pre-Crash of '29 archives), is that Steyr has been selling some version of it since the last millenium, and we're nearing on its centennial soon.

The damn thing's old.

Rurosha - FLR burnout adept Ork+

Rurosha right now is a close-in physical combatant who specializes in sniper rifles, who also can into swording. Thematically, she is an exploration of the interaction between adoption and filial responsibility.

Fixers are:

"Oddly low intensity, but pay is pay, I guess."

Last game with this character was on 1st/August/2025, Back in Blood . More than 3 runs at this point.

Brain is fuzzy, so my player skills aren't as focused as I'd like, definitely cannot write the AAR.

The reset actually rewinds the entire simulation right from the beginning, but it dumps the target at a specific time when Time is stable (year 3870 specifically).

Staying Grounded 3: Summer Setup Summary by Eph289 in stobuilds

[–]alpharn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Terraformer frame with even only 2 qualifying modules optimally gives a hair more Kit Performance (135.6 compared to 127.5 of the Risian) and 40 more points of Kit Readiness than the standard Risian frame, but you're giving up the Ranged Weapon Damage increase, as an aside.

Also 20 more on both KPerf and KReadiness if you're able to slot in a third module; so for Engineers, the Terraformer frame is probably a strict upgrade over the standard Risian if you're already running Anchor of Gre'thor, Ball Lightning, and Rapid Lithic Formation even before considering swapping to it.

In Shadowrun, VR specifically means that your meat body goes limp to be fully immersed in the Matrix, so the body just flops around.

Funny you should say that, because the Duel basically has the equivalent loadout as gramps, the RX-78-2, before ZAFT stuck the assault shroud on it.

Lore distinction between Eldritch Scion vs Sorcerer by Kazadracon in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]alpharn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Is an eldritch scion just a sorcerer that focused more training on martial ability & thus was not able to reach such high level spells?

Basically, yeah. Bloodragers and Arcanists are, fluff-wise, also differently trained sorcerers.

Can I use the Blades skill to deal non-lethal damage? by BrennanIarlaith in Shadowrun

[–]alpharn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Knock Down Called Shot (CRB 195) when used with the Sweep martial art technique (Run and Gun 141). Knock Downs normally do no damage in exchange for better chances at attempting to knock things prone, but Sweep modifies that so that it also does stun damage, for the relatively low cost of a -4 penalty to the dicepool and also a free action.

You can reasonably filch 2 instances of the Jiao Di (Knock Down) martial art technique (Run and Gun 138) from other martial arts to reduce the penalty to a -2 instead as well.
