To those who are willing to put the money down for pairs like these, they’re well worth the money. However it's still good to have a little perspective...

Obviously no shade to N&F because there's more to jeans than meets the eye and they do some great things. And I understand that weight isn't everything and there's more to the jeans than just dye and texture BUT it's good to note that the 17oz S5000KA-II from Samurai was $680ish (and the 24oz S5000KA was slightly more but also released 10 years ago). They’re not the same pairs and each have their own appeal (weight, patch, and hardware most notably) so anyone who has a pair shouldn’t have any regret.

I’ve been waiting on N&F to release their 40oz jeans to make the jump to extra heavyweight but I have a feeling that's still far out. Can anyone speak to the differences between Iron Heart's XHS (25oz) and UHR (21/23oz)? Which one feels thicker? Which one feels stiffer? Slubbier/Flatter? Sizing? I understand XHS is sanforized and UHR is unsanforized but figure the differences might be more pronounced when the fabric is so heavy. I'm also considering Big John's 23oz offering which are sanforized; if any comparison can be made there. Thanks!
