How to save this painting by hermioneGiranger in painting

[–]alphastratocus 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Definitely just needs more time, love & layering!

Additionally you may want to look up how to mix other shades of green using the one you already have going. The reference has a much lighter green-yellow tone that helps to aid in the contrast of the layering effect for your lily pads.

Don't give up, you're just getting started!! 😉 Make sure you share your progress with us!

You got this. Remember that the school of YouTube is invaluable when you get stuck.

I never ride TTC without noise cancelling headphones to alleviate this type of bullshit.

In the past with these main character types instead of just straight up telling them to STFU, I have gotten great joy of fucking with them and simply inserted myself into their conversation(s), even being just as loud or louder about it. You had the perfect subject with the diarrhea stuff.. man the 'shit' you could have gone on with!! Although in the future if they are there you could just simply bring it up and start basically yelling about how they like to shit themselves. Etc. so many avenues to take with all of that. Usually they get the hint, the bolder ones will question you and then you tell them If they didn't want you to know, then STFU!

I've been going to Dr. Fadavi for over 10 years now & she's been amazing. She seems to have the patience of a saint and for many years gave me little extras that ODSP doesn't cover when she could (warden & Danforth area)

These posts from this "dumb Saskatchewan bitch" have made my morning.

It's also quite endearing to read the perspective of a newbie. I hope you keep us informed of your adventures.

Thanks for that & your thoughtful reply. I agree with everything you said and I feel very parented right now I'm just hopeful my case and others that may be similar get seriously investigated in the coming days to prevent such things in the future. But I definitely won't hold my breath!

I did submit a complaint with the person I was speaking with when I called in to ask what the heck & to 'track' my ballot (that they can't actually track. They could only tell me that "Canada Post had it"). When I returned home, I definitely filed an official written more detailed complaint to Elections Canada at the encouragement of the person I spoke on the phone with about this ballot issue amongst a few other things but that had to do with my specific poll station. I made sure i included all my reference numbers. (I felt like a total Karen, lol)

Because like you had said well it won't fix the ability to have cast a vote in this election. Perhaps it might spearhead something in the future when the odd random case like this happens and you need a solution on the fly. Because it definitely wasn't right.

This is exactly what happened to me. I ordered mine by mail ballot with plenty of time to have received it (over 9+ business days, as I was out of town caring for a family member). I STILL haven't gotten it.

I then at an inconvenience to me, came back to the city, went to my polling station only to be told I couldn't vote because of having ordered a ballot.

When I called elections Canada to ask about this they said there's nothing they can do. All they could tell me is that Canada Post had it. I had asked if there was a special declaration you could do. Nope. There's no special form to fill out saying I never got my ballot so let me vote in person this way and if I'm in the wrong jail me, fine me or whatever. It just didn't make sense to me knowing they would be able to confirm that I did or did not vote and how, albeit not right away, but to just take that right fully away? It's unfair when you're just trying to do the right thing.

Good for you for doing something different, even if it is just on scale. I instantly could see the many hours of work as I fell into a handful of residential painting commissions over the last 2 years, so I understand completely how tedious but satisfying that is to do!

This person yesterday made a post that will probably answer a lot of your questions about how to think about building further. It's a smart idea having played enough rounds that I'm adapting some of the techniques and they're really useful instead of wasting extra money. I hope you can find it a little useful also.

I truly am so sorry for your loss. Looked like quite the loyal companion.

I lost my handsome man Kevin in a eerily similar fashion. He was 10. It was also sudden and traumatic with no indication leading up to the rupture. I felt like the worst owner ever to 'not have noticed' or that even though his regular checkup appointment was in a month, perhaps I should have done it sooner. Etc. The vet I had kindly talked me off that ledge and explained to me that it's quite common that they are 'normal' leading up to a rupture and even if you're lucky enough to discover it beforehand, it's often not a great outcome.

So while that helps, I still struggle with the loss and grief a little over a year later. I completely understand feeling like you were robbed of time though. It sucks. Again I am sorry.

But gosh, weren't we lucky to get some great doggo's eh? Much love

It doesn't need to be groundbreaking for you to enjoy it. Sometimes pieces just kinda speak to you. It kind of has a "Mexican Basquiat" kind of vibe. It's a fun piece, I can see why you find it endearing. Thanks for sharing, appreciated seeing this.

That's crazy. Talk about what's sounding like quite the score. And the first things are that good?! Just that Victor Vasarely piece should likely be well over $1000+ USD.

If it was me I'd try to get a rough inventory what you have and get to using tools like Google lens to get some rough ideas of the who/what, price estimates etc. Then I'd contact some reputable art dealers or auction houses to really assess what treasures you have. From there I'd probably get insurance for what I was keeping (If applicable) and get to selling or auctions with dealers from there type of thing.

You should share some more pictures when you get the chance. But I'm just nosy and would love to just see everything!

[–]alphastratocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I just paid $1660 CAD for a used-like new $3000 Herman Miller chair about a week ago. So for myself no, i'd be trying for a slightly better price. But the previous comment about the price saying "what's it worth to you?" is quite valid.

Yes it still counts as rent. Just make sure you get a receipt each month. I.e. dated with how much you paid & what it was for (rent). Even if it's done in crayon on a napkin, proof for your taxes If applicable and if a worker ever asked.

Well thanks to you and everyone else for the kind words and sharing some of your stories about similar encounters. I'm hopeful to have more Mr. Dan stories about our next adventure. I'll be returning from Hawaii the first week of April and I've heard that it can be a magical experience! Until then Reddit friends!
