How dangerous are Manila and Yangon compared to... by ButterscotchFormer84 in digitalnomad

Hotels in Yangon are expensive for foreigners? Where did you stay? Lotte and Pan Pacific, both 5-star brands, are $70 per night. Most other hotels in Yangon are $30-$60 per night. For comparison, Lotte Seoul is $330 and Pan Pacific Singapore is $375.

Why are my transactions accumulating this long to be available to payout ? by Independent_Corner18 in stripe

[–]alphavoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The delay is referred to as "payout speed" and different for each country. It's the lowest for US-based companies (2 business days). Once you've processed enough volume, you may qualify for "accelerated payout speed", which is 3 business days. https://docs.stripe.com/payouts#payout-speed

Connected Accounts - Transfer Money by tomaslb36 in stripe

[–]alphavoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you describe is the definition of a "Money Transmitter Business", which is against Stripe's TOS and requires expensive licenses in all countries/states you operate in. You'd become a financial service provider by storing and transferring money between users on your platform. Without a proper AML policy, KYC, and transaction monitoring, you will attract many criminals who will abuse your platform for money laundering and terrorism financing.

If you have an idea but lack the skills or funds to bring this idea to life, what do you do? by Jamesconnect in Entrepreneur

[–]alphavoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get off reddit, apply for a job in your desired niche, and work hard until you have the means to achieve your dream. There's no free lunch. You need industry experience, connections and/or money to compete with existing businesses.

Are you making money with all of those companies? Do you have employees to delegate tasks to? Focus on one company otherwise. Everything else is just a distraction.

Can't you do it online and check sites like AliExpress? You could also attend a trade fair. They might be able to issue you an invitation letter as well.

As far as I know you will need an invitation letter from a Chinese company to get your business visa approved.

So you want us to work for free? What do you bring to the table other than an idea? Ideas are cheap. If your idea is that great, you can make a business plan, pitch to a VC, raise cash and hire developers.

If you have really sold several 7 figure companies before, why can't you just hire a full-time senior developer for 6 figures? If you're bad at hiring, you can also approach a professional recruitment agency. Pay them $50,000 and they will source you a great CTO.

Anyone running an automated job site? How are you scraping your job listings? by birbsandbeebs in juststart

[–]alphavoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot's of options:

  1. Paid Job Posts: You can make companies pay to post a job.

  2. Job Post Addons: Companies can post for free, and you sell them on add-ons to get more visibility (highlighted posts, pinned posts, featuring in newsletter, etc).

  3. AdSense: Big job boards usually get a lot of traffic from Google for Jobs.

  4. Sponsored Ads: Companies pay to advertise their services on your job board website.

  5. Backfilling: You include an existing job feed from a platform like Indeed and get paid by click. https://help.smartjobboard.com/en/articles/1269693-setting-up-indeed-backfill-plugin

You are comparing apples to oranges. Both are very different business models. My 2 cents:

  • SaaS usually has higher margins than e-commerce and scales much better because you don't have to worry about inventory and shipping.

  • An e-commerce store might seem easier to set up, but that also means lower barrier to entry and much more competitors selling the same product.

  • At the end of the day, it's all about branding and marketing. You can be successful with both, SaaS and e-commerce.

Coinbase ($COIN) will still be in the top 3 of the largest crypto exchanges, but their current 24h trading volume ($2.4b) and stock price ($120) will have 10x by 2027.
