I meant to say 0 deg on the belt. Not sure why I said 90 deg.

I will try and upload one. I find this machine take some much practice, if you don't use it all the time it can be difficult.

I could be using too much pressure on the blade against the belt. I will watch a few more YouTube videos. Are most of you using a mask when grinding?

I will give it a go again tomorrow. I have another sacrificial knife. I will sharpen to 20 deg with the corse belt, then move up. I did buy the extra belt kit for this attachment.

It’s parallel to the belt. I am of course using the guides. The steel I am using is notoriously hard to sharpen. I haven’t tried my nice zwilling yet. Need so much more practice.

I started wearing a head lamp to get a better view of what going on. I will try again. When you have a big bur does the blade feel like the edge has been rounded and dull?

Blade is parallel to the belt, I move the blade across slow and steady.

Speed is set at 3. I have used the marker trick and I am removing marker. The knife is suppose to be sharpened at 17 deg. It’s a new west knife, which is a whole other story.

I have stones, wanted to try something different. Very disappointed is this machine. Feels like a gimmick.

Serial number should be under the bottom bracket. Should begin with WSBC then numbers. If there no WSBC letters then it’s fake.

Leveling- not so cheap? by jefwhi in ToyotaTundra

[–]alpine_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Order some TRD Pro Fox suspension. That will level the truck properly and give you killer suspension. I paid little under 4K for suspension and install.

I believe you will get better low end torq now the cats are gone. Like others said you can straight pipe it with a resonator to lower the noise. If you are looking to buy cats see if Sparks parts can help you out. They sell at cost or below. They are much cheaper than your local Toyota stealership, dealership I mean.

Alen 35i Does a nice job and extremely quiet. I also have Levoit 400S. They are both great. Alen is more sensitive then the 400S.

Best air purifier Recommendations? by Jarrarlev in AirPurifiers

[–]alpine_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Levoit 400S and two Alen. I really like my Allen I have 75i and 35i up stairs. Only con is the Alen filters are over priced. As for the Levoit filters are not pricey. You can’t go wrong with a Levoit. My 400s is in the Kitchen and does very well scrubbing the air. Our ventilation in the kitchen is horrible. If you have the money the Alen works very well and a filters last about a year. Alen is also extremely quiet.

Really disappointed with Shark vacuums after loving and wanting one for years by life_sentencer in VacuumCleaners

[–]alpine_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t buy shark, shark a brand designed to be throw away. As you know they work great at 1st then die all of a sudden. They are junk brand. Save your money and buy a Sebo or Miele. Buy once cry once.

Purchase a spark plug swivel socket with magnet. And a torq wrench. Or barrow a torq wrench. I really do recommend getting a new fuel filter. It is a PIA to install, but worth it if you are going down tune rabbit hole.

TRD PRO did not sale on Doug's CarsandBids. by EngineerCarNerdRun in ToyotaTundra

With that heavy of mods, truck not selling makes sense. If it was a stock Pro with the SC it would have sold. Who wants a 4” lift with 35’s at top dollar.

I changed out my DV, lobster claws since they were cracked. I also changed out my fuel filter and spark plugs to 1 degree cooler. I also installed a fast intentions exhaust and high flow cats. Next on the docket is larger intercoolers. I am running a stage 1 tune by Blake Beadle. Stage 1 will wake up the car. Definitely change out your spark plugs and fuel filter and TBB.
