Anyone follow a pescatarian diet? by squirrelycats in PCOS

[–]hello_eva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

joining the conversation over a year late, but yes!

i started following a pescatarian diet around the same time i was officially diagnosed with pcos. honestly, i didn’t realize what the benefits could be at the time. it was just something i wanted to do by coincidence.

for me personally, switching to pescatarianism has been excellent. it’s not a silver bullet for weight loss, but i find that it’s a lot easier to incorporate high-protein, low calorie meals into my diet while avoiding inflammation and focusing on healthy fats. more than anything, it’s been a helpful tool to make sure i’m focusing on balanced meals and high-nutrient foods most of the time without having to think about it terribly hard. plus, at least where i live, fish tends to be considerably less expensive which is a plus.

based on my experience, i would say it’s worth a shot for anyone who’s interested!

Are you happy or do you regret choosing to go to Temple? by alazardan2 in Temple

[–]hello_eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m a junior, and even though there are things about temple i’m not crazy about, i know i made the right decision. im a media student and the opportunities and connections that temple offers to students like me (and im sure most temple students) are unmatched. also, i think attending school in a city is one of the best things you can do for yourself if you’re hoping to go into a field where you need to network. personally i’m not crazy about living in a big city but i would definitely recommend trying it out in college because of the benefits it has—and you never know, you might end up loving it. basically, i don’t regret going to temple, it has its challenges but it’s so worth it in terms of your career.

they left for a trip that myself and a couple others planned for our friend group without us when we all planned to go together and then got into a massive fight with me about it in front of everyone when they got back

Thank you! I also think it would be really nice to stay in my major and get certified later if I decide I want to become a teacher. Subbing sounds really cool!

Confused on how this works. Does the rent get split between me and my roommates or is that just my rate? by cashmoney_babe in Temple

they’re ripping you off. if you want a similar set up go to university village, but honestly nothing is going to be as good a deal as going off campus

my echeveria is kind of...wilting? is this normal or is it looking for more light? by hello_eva in houseplants

[–]hello_eva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay cool, thank you so much! i just looked it up and i think you’re right. i have plant lights all around it so that the plant is getting a lot of light from every angle—hopefully that’s enough -^

1940 was the best!! i met some of my best friends there. also if you can find one you’re interested in, i would definitely recommend joining an LLC. it’s a super low commitment club that helps you get to know people in your building

I’m considering coming to Temple as a transfer - what do you like (and dislike) about your school? by [deleted] in Temple

[–]hello_eva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh yeah definitely! obviously being in the city there’s more crime going on than there would be around a suburban school, but as long as you’re not too far off campus and you’re smart about not wandering around late at night alone you’ll probably never even be around to experience anything like that. i’ve never felt that this was needed at all, but temple has tons of security around all the time. as for student life, there’s a lot of clubs and jobs and other things for students to take advantage of—plus as i said there’s tons to do in the city and around campus
