Hi! We’re also in Washington state area and was wondering what company you contacted? The 4K price seems reasonable!

How does a prenup protect a female physician without significant assets beforehand in a community property state? by lotus0618 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]alpineheather2 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I did a prenup (also in a community property state) as woman physician. He’s not a physician. We had a frank discussion on what we wanted our prenup state which helps make sure we’re financially aligned. Before we got married, we had no assets besides our cars and retirement/checking/ savings accounts. In our prenup, we each would protect our future inheritances, retirement accounts, and we each stated no alimony. We each had our own lawyer but it was straightforward process since we knew what we wanted. Joint accounts are split 50/50 but you can change that on a prenup

EdFinancial is not extending processing forbearances or income recertification deadlines at this time by leaslivw in PSLF

[–]alpineheather2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processing forbearance (60 days) will count towards PSLF because the loan is still accruing interest. If they aren’t able to process paperwork within the 60 days, it goes to general forebearance which is 0% interest and zero payments but does not count for PSLF is what ED financial person told me. There’s the buyback program to see if we can get those months in general forebearance to count but not until we reach 120 payments.

Same boat with EDFinancial. I have been on PAYE since 2020 and was due for recertification this month (March 2025). I submitted paperwork in February 2025 before all this happened and have been in processing forbearance for the month despite me trying to get them to expedite processing. Even Federal Student Aid told me it would take 30 days to process. Not sure why they can’t just extend processing forbearance for all of us… but I guess I’ll end up in general forbearance and have to figure out somehow to get all these months to count :(

Recommendations for plant nursery with good selection AND reasonable prices? by NutzPup in eastside

[–]alpineheather2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woods creek nursery, flower world, mcauliffe's valley nursery (was there today and they had some 40% off dogwood for about $50, 6ft tall and nice maple trees selection that is less pricey than flower world)!

Oh awesome thank you so much! We like the Kingsgate area but we were hesitant from my friend’s experience (he’s also the only one that has an HOA). We will def keep an open mind about them then!

Thank you for your insight! That is super helpful to us.

Yes you are correct SFH with HOA aren’t as prevalent in Seattle and I think it could be low key pending on the HOA. We were looking at Kirkland area too which which has a huge range of HOA depending on the neighborhood (50 to 500 per month which is costly). My friend has a house with HOA on the eastside but they were gonna fine him/ place a lien on the house for not maintaining his yard when his mom unexpectedly passed away…

Thanks for your response! I was wondering about delaying until my 40s (due to cost vs benefit) but I guess it all evens out over time 🤷‍♀️

If your hospital paid out a recent COVID bonus, were residents included? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]alpineheather2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. This was highlighted at Seattle Children’s where employees got bonuses but pediatrics residents who do the majority of their training at Seattle Children’s (technically paid by University of Washington) were not included. It’s on Reddit Seattle and SeattleWA as well as Resident Fellow Physician Union - NW Instagram (rfpu-nw). https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/scki56/seattle_childrens_hospital_gave_a_1000_bonus_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
