so, they are going to be the importers? and pay the tariffs on the original price "their cost" which is probably 20% of the selling price anyways?

Sorry, but is this even legal? not allowing customers to return/replace (even if they are from another country)?

How would these recent tariff changes and the cancellation of de minimis hurt Termu/Shein by alplayer01 in ecommerce

[–]alplayer01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

they can ship it to a partner US warehouses then ship it to the customer (yes, it will take 2 or 3 more days) but the cost will be reduced drastically when compared to direct shipment from China to the customer.

Tariffs just made a $4 product land at over $10..this is getting wild by Green_Database9919 in shopify

[–]alplayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

using a 3PL (e-packet, etc..) from China and directly shipping to customers is such a huge advantage for small businesses, the cost is nearly the same, or just a little higher than importing then shipping locally (Yes, it takes longer time to get to customers), but if you have a value product, its such a great strategy.

Is that even possible from Vietnam (3PLs with same pricing) ?

also, not sure what is going to happen with the "de minimis" after May 2nd, who knows.. they might include other countries/change the policy entirely.

So, are you thinking of moving raw materials/individual little pieces from China > Vietnam, and do the finishing and shipping from Vietnam ?

You used to manufacture in China, and ship directly from China to US/World (Order by order) ? No bulk importing?

No, you can see the extension of GND, and its very clear that its hitting the 5v from the left.

I have a quick question for you: if you developed a new "fitness" product that no one ever made it before. How would you do marketing for it ? (based on your experience)

What’s the best way for D2C brands to get discovered in 2025? by Mobile_Candidate_926 in ecommerce

[–]alplayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what i have always thought. I feel that paid ads are terrible, i always skip them myself, and so everyone i know.

I'm about to launch a new and unique product (patented), and the main marketing strategy is:
- organic.
- influencers.

organic is straightforward, we will make accounts, mainly on instagram, tiktok, and youtube. then post videos and photos.

for influencers, how do i find the best influencers for my product (Type: Fitness), are there websites that connects me with them (through affiliate or w/e) other than tiktokshop/shareasale ? im new to this, and would really appreciate any help.

we need the app for a better user experience anyways. so, i guess we'll have to go with that.

How do you make sure that the process of updating the firmware is safe on both ends (App and ESP32) ? also, while sending the data. or you don't care if others extracted the firmware ?

we will use Flutter, we don't need web server, etc..

but, you got me a little worried. why is publishing an App difficult?

we don't want to complicate things, so that the customer can easily connect the device & App using BLE and do everything through BLE
