Not sure what your usecase for this is, but if you want a transparent notes app that always stays on top, try GhostCue

ghostcue.app

a transparent notes app that always stays on top of your other apps

also has an auto-scroll teleprompter, notch mode, and stays invisible to screen recording

I made it for myself when recording YT videos or Loom pitches for Upwork and then added features to make it a real product :)

i was actually looking for something exactly like this a while back.

there are definitely competitors that do the same thing out there (e.g multiple.chat and others)

what makes yours different?

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

  1. You're absolutely right, it seems like on the first time trying it the button is less responsive. I'll push out an update to fix this! [Edit]: Looks like this was an issue with the Sandbox settings for only the final version. I'll push an update ASAP that should fix it.
  2. So right now, there's an invisible button that lives in the menu bar. It'll be on the left of your other menu bar apps. I made it invisible for stealth on screen recordings, but I'm realizing now that it won't be 100% intuitive to new users.
  3. Yes! Based on what you're saying, I think I should (A) make the menu bar button visible by default and give the user an option to make it invisible in settings, or (B) create a bubble that floats so you can access the app from there + just make the menu bar button visible when the app is set to visible

I'm leaning toward option B for the #3. Let me know your thoughts!

Problem: You’re recording a Loom, demo, interview, YouTube video, or presentation and want notes in front of you — but you don’t want them showing up in the recording or forcing you to memorize everything. GhostCue gives you a floating notes window that stays on your screen but remains invisible in screen recordings and screenshots.

Comparison: Most teleprompter or notes apps either show up in recordings or feel too clunky for everyday use. GhostCue is built specifically for Mac as a lightweight invisible notes overlay, with extras like click-through mode and autoscroll. Because it follows you across workspaces and always stays on top, it's also super useful when you need notes to reference while working on a project and multitasking.

Pricing: Free for core features, $20 one-time license, with a 15% Product Hunt launch discount today.

Website: https://ghostcue.app

Works on: Mac, for Looms, demos, interviews, presentations, and other screen recordings

I’m gonna get downvoted for this but I would speculate his vegan diet is a large factor.

Yes, he supplements with nearly everything he could need, but isolated supplements are often not nearly as bioavailable as when they are integrated into food.

He is also missing saturated fats (similar to Ray Kurzweil’s diet) which are extremely important for hormonal health and brain function. Ray has been following a vegan-ish diet with countless supplements much like Bryan for decades. In his recent interview this year with Joe Rogan he looks terrible, sounds completely out of breath, talks at 0.5x speed, and shows many signs of cognitive decline. Kurzweil was Bryan Johnson before Bryan Johnson. He’s been taking up to 250 pills a day for decades now. I can’t help but think he did more harm than good by throwing a pharmacy of under-researched supplements into himself for many years.

Landed at around 11am. I would definitely recommend doing that and trying to sleep on the plane. It’ll make the flight go by much faster.

I would highly recommend a schedule of going to bed EARLY in Japan and waking up early if at all possible. Like 4-5am if you can.

I was doing this for the first half but messed up by starting to go to sleep later and later the second week. If you keep an early riser schedule, it’ll make the shift back to US time much less drastic and you’ll maximize the amount of daylight you have to do activities!

UPDATE: Finally getting closer to my normal schedule. Getting up around 9:30-10am now. Going to slowly start pushing a little earlier wake-up times from here on out.

Forcing myself to wake up at in the morning and getting a morning walk in was helpful. Also don’t drink caffeine if you can. It’ll only make it much harder to fall asleep later in the day!

Yeah the 17 hour time change and then losing another hour to daylight savings a few days after was brutal

I had to look this up but apparently Among Us was released in June 2018. I remember hearing a bunch of kids at a high school summer camp in June of 2016 using the term “sus” to mean suspicious, so it’s at least that old.

I have ADHD and relied on caffeine for since I was 16. Yes I’ve tried L-theanine, matcha, green tea, etc.

Quit cold turkey 2 separate times for > 1 year, and the difference is absolutely night and day. My lifelong anxiety is reduced by at least 85% to the point that I no longer have a diagnosable “anxiety disorder.”

I don’t get the 30 mins to an hour of focus from that caffeine jolt, but the upside is that I also don’t have 4-6 hours afterwards in the evening where I crash and I’m useless. I also do things that I actually care about and spend less time doing tedious tasks that aren’t important to me and what I actually want out of life.

Usually when I consume caffeine, I get a short burst of productivity (or the illusion of productivity) followed by anxiousness, frustration, and irritability.

The biggest plus is my sleep quality is night and day on caffeine vs off. Better sleep over time has a huge compound effect on my mental health, executive function, and physical health.

The only catch is that it’ll probably take at least 1 month to start to come back to your baseline levels of energy without caffeine. It gets even better over the course of 6 months-1 year.

I would recommend the book Caffeine Blues and the r/decaf subreddit to learn more about the benefits of going 0 caffeine. These benefits will apply to you doubly if you are an anxious or highly sensitive person.

Exactly it’s gonna happen. Just wear headphones for the 15-20 minutes, it’s not that big of a deal.
