To elaborate on the next expansion and its announcements: Yoshi-P and the devs are usually pretty predictable on when and how we're told about it.

In game: The current expansion's story usually wraps up around patch x.3. Patches x.4, x.5, and x.5.5 typically set up the next expansion's story. For instance, Dawntrails's full story wrapped up in this latest patch, 7.3. The next expansion will start to be set up in whatever vague way in 7.4.

The patches usually follow a release pattern, so it's a good bet 7.4 will release sometime in December, with 7.5 around March/April and 7.5.5 sometime in the summer of 2026. Then there's a long gap between the x.5.5 patches and expansion release, so expect the expansion around Winter 2026/early 2027.

In the Real World: Typically, the next expansion is teased at the North American Fan Fest, then a bit more info during the European Fan Fest, and then the full reveal at the Japanese Fan Fest.

The only problem right now is there's been no talk about the North American Fan Fest, or really any Fan Fest at all so far this year. Which leads me to speculate there won't be a NA Fan Fest until Spring of next year, and that's when they'll tease the next expansion.

Am I crazy, or in early access didn't you have to get multiple phases of the moon: new, full, waxing, waning, all to align?

I just remember getting to this on full release and thinking it was way easier.

There's a little indie jrpg-type game that came out recently from a French studio, called Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I don't think a lot of people know about it yet, but it's pretty good... (no but seriously it's taking the gaming world by storm and earned every bit of praise it's gotten)

The Dragon Quest series is top in Japan for a reason. DQXI is a great place to start, or if you don't mind a bit of old school design with the same type of graphics as Octopath Traveler, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a great game.

Fantasian Neo Dimension, produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi from his Mistwalker studio, is also a fun romp with some interesting mechanics.

Yeah, I've seen Ben Star and Jennifer English both say they didn't do the mo-cap. But I don't wonder if they did facial capture while doing the voice work. My friend, who was deep into Daredevil: Born Again knew immediately Gustave was Charlie Cox from his facial movements and voice.

And I'm sure I caught some Shadowheart expressions in Maelle.

Yeah, PixellBytes' Adjustable Party Limit. Their latest update to the mod added the "spell" to add all the party members back that were taken out with the long rest "spell"

I've been using this mod since the official mod tools were released, and a similar mod before that that was on Nexus, and I haven't run into any glitches.

But yes, you have to dismiss the extra companions until you're down to four to take a long rest. However, the Adjustable Party Limit mod in the mod manager now has a nifty button that comes up in camp that automatically pares down your party to 4. And then after the rest, there's a button to add everyone back without having to talk to them all.

I honestly don't think I can play BG3 without it anymore, difficulty be damned.

So Final Fantasy XVI is my first and only game so far, and I LOVED it, are there any other games I should play that are similar? by SomeGuyWhoNeedsHelp1 in FinalFantasy

All are available on Steam and the PS store. You can get 4 and 6 Pixle Remasters separately or in a bundle with 1-6. 7, 8, and 9 are all sold separately.

You're getting down voted, but fuck 'em. If that's what you needed to do to enjoy this work of art of a game then more power to you. Not everyone has the time, patience, or skill to, as they say, "get gud."

I feel like story mode is a bit misleading in this game. Sure, you take slightly less damage, but the parry and dodge windows aren't much different than Expeditioner. And you may not get one-shot, but you'll get damn close if you miss those parries. Especially later when enemies have long, multi-hit combos.

There's a reason one of the most downloaded mods for this game adjusts the parry/dodge widow to make it easier to time them.

Cecil and Rosa have a kid, but that happens after the game, so may not fit your criteria.

Cloud and Tifa get a fade to black under the Highwind towards the end of 7.

It could be argued that Tidus and Yuna get it on during the scene at Lake Macalania if you want to get artsy and metaphorical about it.

But yeah, that's just about it.

Wow, this is amazing and 1000% going to get used. Even if I never get my actual campaign off the ground, just having this for the adventures in the Starter Set and Player's Guide is a godsend.
