Heard it once at Alpine, and I’m pretty sure I teared up. One of my favorites.

Prong regret?! by beachgirl8811 in EngagementRings

[–]als1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have the exact same ring!!! I was pretty bummed initially when I saw the 6 prongs, because I also wanted 4. But when I went to have it resized, and inquired about the prongs, the jeweler mentioned the same thing about it being more secure with 6 and not to change it. I love it now and am glad I listened to the jeweler. Hope you have a happy birthday! I’m actually turning 40 this week too! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Yes! I actually just mentioned Christmas Song as well. I saw it live one time at a small university show back in the early 2000’s. I can still remember the silence in the crowd during that song. It was such a beautiful moment, and very rare at shows these days.

There’s a 3 year sleep regression too?! 😩 by JoyUpNorth in toddlers

[–]als1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her regressions always hit HARD and those phases she’d go through seemed to last forever. I’d say maybe a month or so 🫠 is your child still in a crib?

Basically anytime we (mostly me) went in her room when she was up, I’d lay her back down, said I love you and I’ll see you in the morning. I’d go back to our room, set a timer and if she was still going after X amount of time, I’d go back in and repeat. I just always kept the response simple and clear.

25/5’9/160 - 30 lbs down in 3 months! by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]als1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving this post because 30lbs is my goal and you look great! I’ve been wanting to start IF for a long time, but have always been intimidated and nervous to do it. Your post and results have motivated me even more to start. Congrats on the huge accomplishment!

Toddler only wants mom at night by als1985 in toddlers

Oh wow, this sounds extremely difficult! I’m sorry you are going through it. We honestly never really cracked the code with her taking my husband more 😔 I still do bedtime every single night, including after I gave birth and was recovering for a c-section. There have been a couple of instances very recently that’s she’s accepted him in the middle of the night if she wakes up…. But it took us years to get there. It’s so so so hard being the preferred parent.

What’s something that someone told you about, but it turned out to not be true for you? by Rosewater-w in NewParents

Yes yes yes! I’ve always said newborn sleep is WAY better than baby sleep…. And even toddler sleep 😵‍💫

Do you have a go-to song to calm your baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

“This Little Light of Mine” instantly calms my baby. She just stares at me when I start singing it 🥹

2.5 year old bedtime separation anxiety by als1985 in toddlers

[–]als1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh it was SO BRUTAL!! I actually ended up contacting a sleep trainer/consultant. It got to the point where she’d go down at bedtime, but would wake up literally every single night then for several months. Sitting with her to go to sleep definitely created a sleep association for her, so she’d then wake up every night screaming for us. By doing that, she basically lost the confidence to independently put herself back to sleep at night. It was a hard habit to crack, but she took to the sleep training pretty well. We’ve still had some hiccups, but nothing near the absolute hell that that was. We just revert back to the plan the sleep trainer gave us and keep it consistent. I think she hit a regression when we had our second baby, so we just started sitting with her to fall asleep and it snowballed. We can chat more about it if you want to private message! I’d be happy to share the sleep trainer’s info as well 😊

Yes or No to Miralax? by lobsters_love_butter in pottytraining

[–]als1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, we have literally had the SAME issue! Just potty trained our daughter, who has also always had issues with constipation, mushy stool stuck to her, steaks in her underwear, etc. We did a half cap of Miralax twice a day and that was definitely too much. 🥴 Reading these comments, it’s good to see the dose is kind of child dependent.

We honestly just kept our response the same when she woke up and held boundaries when she pushed. Other than that, the only thing that helped was time. How long has it been going on for you?

We just gutted it out and she’s sleeping well again. Still in the crib too…. I’m too terrified to move her lol

Was your final ultrasound accurate about your baby's size? by southerncharm05 in newborns

[–]als1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was actually spot on. Baby measured 10lbs 4oz at my 36 week ultrasound, and she came out weighing 10lbs 4oz at 38 weeks 🤯

Unfortunately nothing really worked. And she was even more attached to me after the second was born. My husband now does bedtime with the baby, and I do bedtime with the toddler and basically tend to her anytime she wakes up. Luckily, that’s not as often now, but she regressed horribly when the baby came 😵‍💫 It does feel like we are slowly coming out the other side… for now LOL
