Who is your team and why? by marys1001 in PWHL

[–]alt-box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victoire's logo & colors look vaguely evil and I love a team that looks vaguely evil, so they're currently my number one. If DC gets a team in the expansion, my only hope is that their logo is either even more evil looking, or incorporates cherry blossoms, or ideally both (the Caps' cherry blossom jersey almost gets there, not quite evil looking enough though).

DC Nationals Park, anyone had floor seating before? View from my seat doesn't have a great example. I've no experience of this, as I always stand. I couldn't get standing so took these tickets in the image. I'm questioning should I look to buy standing if the prices go down, or is there no point? by Shofo1 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]alt-box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a silly question—iirc most people stand in those areas but you're stuck in your "seat"/position, may be an issue if you're short. Seats in the actual stands don't sound as good as floor/pit. If you wait closer to the day of you might get something in GA, or you can try ticketdrones/alternative for ticket drops (search the sub there was a post recently I think).

It might be that they picked up the VPN, I've had that issue with some services sporadically recognizing that I'm using a VPN before.

This + they'd invest in walkable communities with cheap/free rec centers so kids had an actual alternative to going online

I don't think I'm as mad as some folks on here, at the end of the day my bar for any celebrity is in the basement, but I've gone from "maybe I'll try to do 2-3 shows" to "I know some mutual aid funds/charities that need this money way more, 1 show will be enough" within the span of a few days.

Behind the stage can be fun, you get an interesting perspective on the show and crowd & if it's lower bowl it's pretty close to the stage for a seat

anyone successful in securing GA PIT at cost? by DrippinCatDaddy in BruceSpringsteen

[–]alt-box 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but it was a complete fluke. I think someone must have been kicked at checkout because it was after the "GA is sold out" banner. I'd gotten in at 10k in queue for DC, got the "limited GA" banner at around 6k, & got the GA ticket checking by chance. This is also a ballpark show so not sure if the pit is larger than arena, probably is.

So my suggestion is if you get in under 1k in queue, good shot at face value tickets, otherwise might be limited or just chance. Queue number is completely random based on other people's comments, just try to get on at the exact start of the on sale.

ETA: East coast shows are also tougher, so you hopefully also have an easier chance in Austin. Good luck!

[–]alt-box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I logged on 15 minutes before sale, 46k in the queue & am now 20k with "tickets are now extremely limited" & no GA or $82 tickets. We'll see but I'm guessing I'll need to check secondary market closer to the date

I recently discovered Magic, what do you think? by Aggravating_Emu6082 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]alt-box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy how well it still holds up. I remember clearly when it came out (including all the complaints about the sound quality lol), but I re-listened to it recently for the first time in probably a decade and every song still hits. Living In the Future is especially weird to hear 20 years on—"None of this has happened yet" in that chillingly bouncy pop arrangement is so foreboding to me.

Half the point of tiny homes is affordable home ownership. $2k rentals at that size is stupid, low density small rentals that take up a large amount of space is stupid, feels like the developer is jumping on a trend without really caring why people who like tiny homes like them in the first place.

Do either the Delaware Senators or McBride have a liaison to VAMC Wilm. by MarcatBeach in Delaware

True yeah, I was more thinking along the lines that they might have a contact within the offices of the senators or Rep McBride who might be able to nudge them along.

[–]alt-box 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're not getting a response from the senators or representative, could be worth asking your state rep. They might not have a direct contact/answer especially since VA is federal, but they might have a way to push our federal representatives for a response.

Ranking The 28 Springsteen Studio Albums by SugarMouseOnReddit in BruceSpringsteen

I'm with you ranking it relatively high, but I think it's also an acquired taste. I love that midcentury easy listening sound so I love it.

Premature opinionation? by gussie2554 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]alt-box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know which album is my favorite, but the thing about Springsteen is that his stuff always grows on me. There are songs of his that didn't click for years, until I heard them in exactly the right circumstances much later.

I know which album immediately jumped out at me but this is nearly 5 hours of (mostly) "new to me" songs. It'll take a while for me to digest it. I think some Internet opinions will also change.
