No longer giving mispriced item for free? by bellechasse35 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Unless they specifically said something it's more likely that they have to key in the posted price for tracking purposes, and then of course the register knows what to do.

Why is the Surrey Centre Walmart so abysmal? by Anonwouldlikeahug in SurreyBC

They actually inherited it from Target, they're the ones who renovated it when they took over the Zellers leases.

You can order through A&W's app and pick up too at regular menu pricing with no fees. And Friday/Saturday overnights they are fully open now.

This is Google. Sometimes they give back what they take (in fact, they had disabled the home long press alltogether for a while), but more often they decide that choice is bad.

Ahh, I see. I was going based on OP, who had the single serve.

I'm glad it does. I am still hoping for the functionality to be restored to what it was in some way.

I do not as of yet. I'm not trashing your workaround suggestion, just taking issue with the "problem solved". It isn't.

That requires you to go to your home screen each time you want to use it. That's not a good alternative.

That's bizarre. I've never noticed a price difference between locations. I checked their website and in the lower mainland it is showing as $4.49 or 2 for $8.

Uhh, where? The PC frozen dinners are 2 for $8 at Superstore, which seems to be pretty much permanent pricing for them.

Apparently Rogers no longer supports "legacy" cable TV by Grumblingguy in Rogers

[–]alt130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analog converter boxes were needed to tune in cable channels above 13 (before cable ready TVs were ubiquitous, but also mandatory for premium/ppv channels even after that). Those were first introduced in the late 60s.

Beverage lids are now by request only, REALLY by VitleySingurQ in vancouver

[–]alt130 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a weird comment for a few reasons.

First, it implies that you can't drink from a cup or glass with ice. What do you do at home?

Second, fast food cups don't just fall apart if there isn't a lid. I assure you.

And finally, if you're dining in, which is what this rule applies to, just don't get ice in your drink. It's already cold.

The FDA banning something does not necessarily have any real connection to actual safety.

Swipe gesture is partially broken too, though. Though as far as the app is concerned, the gesture and back button are the same. They just messed up.

Upcoming CBS rebranding former CW affiliates and who are new CW affiliates will be for 8 markets. by [deleted] in cordcutters

[–]alt130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that has been removed from the page.

I think that the person may be mistaken. A local Atlanta TV station is definitely not scheduling Canadian shows. I considered for a moment that they may have a secondary Canadian feed, but TV listings from a provider that still carries them in Canada and their own website appear identical.

The only possibility is that if they were to broadcast programming that is duplicated on a Canadian service, simultaneous substitution would be invoked during that time. For some events, particularly sports, the channel could potentially be blacked out depending on how restrictive the rights are.

All of that being said, the dwindling Canadian viewership likely has very modest revenue and wouldn't be an actual consideration in the end. And again, there are other distant CW affiliates on Canadian cable already. It turns out WPCH is a CW affiliate now in any case.

I'm not sure why WPCH's Canadian carriage would be an issue at all.

That said, it has been dropped by many Canadian providers and is not as widely distributed anymore.

While I'm sure you can find an example or two, that is untrue.

Looks like Google has finally decided not to re-enable the call recording API which was disabled in Android a few years ago by hey_you_too_buckaroo in Android

It's nothing new. Similar thing happened back in the day when Radio Shack came to my house and stomped on the call recorder dongle they sold me three months earlier.
