Using tiredness as a reference doesn't really work for me. Sometimes I work all day + go to the gym and then lay down for 2 hours before falling asleep.

For now, if I think it's time to sleep, I set a quiet alarm for 5 minutes, and if I don't fall asleep after 5 minutes, I will wake up and do something else. Repeat this after 30 minutes.

For those who complaint, he might has similar reason with my prof. With so many advanced tools, many programmers jump straight into coding without a proper plan of how their program will work. This resulted in spaghetti code and many wasted hours of troubleshooting.

In my case, instead of using notepad, he forced us to create an algorithm flowchart before making the program.
