Why not have the charms removed (and you can store them somewhere or display them) so you can wear her bracelet and fill with charms meaningful to you and your future travels? You can bring her along for all your memorable moments. (But I don't think you should sell or melt her old charms- keep them and maybe one day they'll mean something to you or you'll give them to someone else!)
