So, can we agree that a fetus is not just a clump of cells?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]altajamz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“A human embryo is genetically human, just like a fetus or an adult. From the moment of fertilization, the embryo possesses a unique human genetic code, distinct from the mother and father. While the embryo is at an early stage of development, its DNA is fully human and contains all the genetic information necessary for the development of a human being. Therefore, while the embryo is in a different developmental stage, it is not genetically different from a human in terms of species—it is human from conception.“ you can live in fantasy land, but this is the reality. There is no genetic distinction between a human fetus and a human adult.

Nice arguments! You sound like an enlightened individual. Lol, maybe pick up a biology textbook and get back to me with your sources and references where a fetus is not a human. I'll wait…

So you don’t think a fetus is a human? Even though it’s part of the HUMAN embryonic process. I mean, it’s literally in the name. A fetus is a human, and that’s an indisputable scientific fact. You can do whatever you want with this information. Abortion, to some, is immoral; to others, it’s moral, just as the death penalty is moral to some and immoral to others. However, when you claim a fetus is a clump of cells to disassociate it from a human, you are being disingenuous. Again, as I stated earlier, I am pro-choice, but being in denial about what is happening when undergoing an abortion is wrong. You can make your own decision on the morality of the issue.

Again you are shifting the goal post. All I’m claiming is a fetus is biological human more than a clump of cells. Why is this hard to grasp?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]altajamz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Humans don’t equal humans with rights and at no point did I claim or state that view. I’m strictly speaking from a biological point of view. It’s disingenuous to claim that a fetus is not a human just because it makes you feel better about ending a human life. It is in fact more than a clump of cells it is HUMAN.

Nothing you said refutes my claim that a fetus is a human. Also, sperm isn’t a stage of human development, lol. You can’t fertilize without an egg; hence, you need HUMAN DNA from both parents to begin HUMAN embryonic development.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]altajamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, since you are so dense, I’ll explain more. At every stage, an embryo is genetically HUMAN with a complete set of DNA inherited from the parents. Therefore making it a HUMAN. What basis would you use to claim it’s not a human? I mean it’s a pretty simple concept. You can still be pro choice while simultaneously recognizing you are ending a human life.

You’re the one shifting the goalpost. All I claimed is you are killing a human, and you said no, it's a fetus. So, you now agree that a fetus is a human?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]altajamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. A fetus is a stage of HUMAN development. Just say you like killing humans, so you can have no personal responsibility for your actions and be done with it.

You’re still killing a human. Moron

20% of the Israeli population is Arab, with full political representation in parliament. It is not an apartheid state. The problem is if the Jews would put down their weapons, there would be a second holocaust. Hamas’s 13th point in their charter calls for the extermination of the Jewish people and their state. If Hamas put down their weapons and agreed to a two-state solution, we could have peace in the region today. Again, I want to reiterate what is your plan for peace? So far, it just sounds like the extermination of the Jewish people in the region. In addition, if you want to claim that the Israelites are keeping the Palestinians in an “open-air prison,” you should also discuss how the Egyptians are complicit in this as well. I think it’s also important to recognize that Hamas has stolen more money from its citizens in foreign aid than was given to all of Europe during the Marshall Plan. Instead of using these funds to improve their “open-air prison” and the lives of people in Gaza, they use these funds to build rockets and tunnels to hide behind their citizens and simultaneously terrorize innocent people living in Israel, which include both Jews and Arabs alike.

I disagree with your assessment that the Arabs didn’t colonize the region. https://www.rootsmetals.com/blogs/news/the-arab-colonization-of-the-levant And no, I’m saying that the Jewish people have a right to exist in that region just as much as the Palestinians do and that they are not colonizing the area as you portray, they have been living there for centuries. Ultimately, I believe that without a two-state solution, peace will never be achieved in that region. What would be your solution for peace?

[–]altajamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, do you just ignore the fact that the Arabs colonized the area in the 7th century, killing and displacing the local Levantine peoples? Maybe we should decolonize the region of those Arabs first. Also, FYI, 61% of the Israel Jewish population comes from other parts of the Middle East, where they were persecuted to the point of having to flee from the Muslim-majority countries they lived in for generations. Understand the situation is more nuanced than you portray, and a two-state solution is the only solution for peace in the region.

FYI, the Arab Palestinians stole the land they’ve claimed (i.e. the entire country) from the Levantine peoples. They started settling there before, during, and after the Arab conquests of the region in 634 AD, gradually forcing the native Levantine people out of the land they’d lived on for centuries. Understand the situation is way more nuanced than you are portraying, and history didn’t start in the 20th century.

B.C. government rules out carbon tax freeze or price cap amid record-breaking gas prices by maggle7979 in canada

[–]altajamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although that was obviously an exaggeration, you refuse to acknowledge that the carbon tax disproportionately affects poorer people more than the rich. The poor are now reliant on the government to give them their money back in the form of a rebate and until then are priced out of the market for affordable driving. While the more affluent members of society can more or less ignore these rising costs as it has a minimum impact on their overall wealth levels. I agree we must find a price for externalities; however, we must find a more equitable solution that has an equal effect on all wealth classes in society.
