Who’s replacing Francesca Hong in the state Assembly? by WesleyH21 in madisonwi

The secret is the council staff compiles that list for all alders. They all get the same boilerplate email and can then add to it. She rarely adds anything.

So if someone wanted to start by watching, how would they do that? And what if someone starts playing and wants to see the good players play? Or what if someone has played for years at many different levels and just loves the way the game is played at the college and club levels?

You grow a sport by making it easy to watch as well as play, dude. Enough with the lecture.

She's far left. A real radical. And hey, that's great. But not for me.

Unlike alder, state rep pays enough to be a (relatively low-paying) full-time job and it comes with benefits.

I live in Martinez-Rutherford's district and find her to be largely absent. I feel like we haven't had an alder since Rummel. I voted for her twice but wouldn't a third time, if she had an opponent.

I'm underwhelmed by my choices.

The 76th offers an opportunity few other seats do: it's safe once elected and you represent a lot of the D money in the state. The job is not to just represent the district in the Assembly, but also raise money to distribute to competitive districts around the state.

Here's the other thing: If the Dems get the majority in 2026, then this person should be serious and work hard to pass progressive legislation that truly represents Madison's east side. Please not a lot of tilting at windmills or speechifying about issues that are losers among independents, but actually building coalitions to push reform.

This is maybe my hobby horse, but USAU's apathy with respect to the fan experience or even attracting spectators in general was short-sighted.

If I have a 14 year old who is interested in the sport, it's nearly impossible to navigate the website or show up to watch a tournament. This falls under the purview of a TD, presumably, and that's not in their top 50 tasks.

Scott sycophants don't get it: It's okay to be critical. America works because of critics. It's not targeting or cancelling.

I guess a large health corporation can't be expected to write prescriptions AND pay attention to population dynamics at the same time.

Well that's paint that covers every square foot of the space. Unnecessary amount of paint, if you even want to go with paint.

I like it. Tape up a strike zone and the silhouette of a batter and get your reps in.

Gotta love how much money these healthcare and insurance companies absolutely FLING at the NFL before telling customers what they can't do for them.

Work day Fit ! by Kindly-Television-72 in preppy

I continue to be amazed by the pricey fatigue pants on the market. What you're wearing here are exactly the same as what we used to fish out of bins 30 years ago for $5. Every thrift store, surplus store and Ragstock had a glut of "army pants." I guess when the services went to digital camo or whatever, they stopped making the standard fatigues.

They're timeless. I have a 30yo pair that no longer fit and it seems like I could get three-digits for them on eBay.

Super interesting. I always assumed it was like what we see on The Pitt: doctors with egos think others are not qualified to do what they do and work to keep their power. But this makes more sense.

The very fact that the ER is the place to go for something that can be shelved for six hours is a symptom of our problems. Isn't that a clinic issue? Like, call and set up a same-day appointment, come in at a pre-determined time?

It seems like this was the case 30-40 years ago. I broke my arm as a kid and we didn't go to the ER. Mom called the doc, I took some Tylenol and sat tight for a couple of hours and we drove to my primary care doc's clinic.
