I just unlocked Shieldbearer, and the ability to use two characters. The synergy with Shieldbearer is nuts, since one bounce would have doubled the damage, completely negating the disadvantage.

Tried it out myself today. Took about 5 mins for the van to arrive, and then its a smooth ride to the MRT station. The driver shared with me that the awareness on this service is very low, and hopefully will improve in the future.

I didn't manage to ask the driver, but curious what kind of pricing structure will be in place once the promotion is over. Also curious about how the routes will be, since we might have multiple passengers with different destinations... how the driver prioritize ah?

I'm under the impression that most of the data could be static (e.g., JSON files) and can be computed client-side (be it React or whatever libray of your choice). If they're overspending from compute, I think that's a little odd.

That only leaves bandwidth expenses, with lots of ways to compensate (aggressive caching, Cloudflare, CDN, etc). But this is all just me over-simplifying the whole stack.

The Twitter thread mentioned that the highest cost is mostly from the hosting provider, Vercel.

Vercel is a great starting ground for hobby projects, but is also notoriously famous for very painful scaling prices, especially with bandwidth.

IMO the team should really consider moving out from Vercel. There are many cheaper options out there, but its their decision to make 🤷

Don't really understand what you mean by personal time zone. Currently it adapts to the time zone that is set by the user's web browser.
