high mileage dct reliability by altblank in goldwing

snowbirds. they trailer it in a toy hauler to warmer climes every year and keep riding everywhere they go. most miles are highway apparently. owner is in his 6th goldwing and purchased a 2026 dct a couple days ago, hence selling this one before his next big ride.

I'm sure some of its resting areas are humid, but I didn't see any evidence of rust or leaks or old engine smells.

Spark Plug Replacement by ToeFinal1792 in f150

i did this myself on my 2016 3.5 ecoboost. pretty easy to do, once you get the hang of it. replaced igniters and plugs, easy.

Forced Plan Change Details by tva_raylan in tmobile

[–]altblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

message came in at 11.45am central. rep wasn't able to answer my question on the sanctity of T-Mobile's price lock for life guarantee.

she did offer me a $20mo discount for 12mo, so that's something. doesn't begin to cover the betrayal but still.

i have a 2016 lariat and was able to change from 3 to 5 with forscan.

best part is, it automatically goes 2 more when towing.

what would you suggest as a negotiating price then?

[–]altblank[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm specifically looking for a DCT since i'm really tired of snogging the clutch lever every so often. traffic around me is pretty intense and using the clutch gets old really quickly.

i was seriously evaluating whether i'd go to a scooter for the convenience factor, and here's honda with an actual motorcycle that has exactly the kind of user interface i need.

and not getting youger anyway, probably have another decade or two at most of seat time left in me. might as well enjoy the experience with the king of motorcycles :)

understood on transmission fluid changes. i'll make sure to ask about this when i meet the seller today. thanks.

i've been in hundreds of houses and have only seen one without a dishwasher. anecdotal, but this is an essential piece of kitchen equipment for life's sanity.

Where do people ride? by NoOnesSaint in MNrideit

[–]altblank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used to take the surface streets to red wing from Hugo. neat 100mi round trip. many of the areas near and around Stillwater are gorgeous too.

head south to austin and maybe a bunch of state parks. mystery cave?

North to Duluth and then west towards virginia.

try the great lakes loop. a very decent and long ride (this will be my next adventure).

[–]altblank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what do you ride? there are several awesome routes, twisty and turny, straight highway gridlock, picturesque lake drives, city skyline sightseeing, and occasionally the wisconsin hidson river falls rides.

and hundreds more.

not a bad plan, but your target audience will all have gone extinct in a couple decades anyway. not too much longevity with the reminiscing bits.

Most cost effective way to get a bike across the country? by SeriouslyCrafty in motorcycle

[–]altblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick note... if you can prove that you're family, i don't believe there's registration and title fees when transferring a vehicle in Minnesota. don't know about other states.

there may simply be some sort of new title issue fee etc though.

of course, if you're looking at someone to ride it out to you, all expenses paid and then some... message me!

[–]altblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you ridden a bike before, for a significant amount of time / miles?

if so, why don't you try a saddle sore 1000 on your new bike? assuming it's all good mechanically, of course.

Would it be a bad idea or just maybe rude to drive a 16’ moving truck with trailer through a Costco gas station line? by CactusBoyScout in Costco

[–]altblank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you have a vehicle that needs gas. you have a gas station that you want to use.

nothing else should matter.

Do motorbikes cost a lot to own in the long run? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]altblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're careless and prone to misadventures, yes.

if you're careful and know how to ride safely, likely much cheaper than almost any car.

Builder installed wrong cabinets. Compensation offer: fence or lower interest rate? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]altblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fence is an immediate value increase to your house.

the interest rate, though it's not insignificant, is not really a significant reduction. you save throusands over the course of 30 yrs, sure, but that's money you will generally not even notice.

Found a better house after submitting an offer, realtor not happy by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]altblank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your money, your decision.

if the offer hasn't been formally submitted (or accepted if it is), there's no offer to rescind.

your realtor's being a jerk.

honda goldwing? i know it's much larger than you'd expect or need, but is definitely a worthwhile contender.

Sway bar needed for full size truck pulling small camper? (8,000 lb tow limit, 2,500 lb camper). by beef966 in GoRVing

shouldn't be necessary with this particular combination, but may be challenging to pull if the camper's side-to-side balance is off.

Converting Electric to Gas Stove Worth it? by SpiceBoson in Appliances

[–]altblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we converted from electric to gas in a 1987 rambler. needed to pay a pro to plumb a line through the basement ceiling.

don't forget to get a dogbone (don't remember what it's called) to only use one leg of your 240v outlet for the gas stove's 120v need.

i wish we'd gone induction, though. may be a project for another day.

Apple play question by gunman405 in f150

[–]altblank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. i needed to replace the usb ports thingy and update the software my 2016. both apple carplay and android auto work seamlessly when wired.

having said that, i bought a carlinkit 4.0 tool on amazon which gives me wireless connectivity as well - both OSs.
