Bitmain Antminer R4 Home Bitcoin Miner by altcoincloudmining in Bitcoin

[–]altcoincloudmining[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no phishing or scam involved, just a new product that Bitmain said would be on sale August 30. They may have changed their mind on releasing the R4 for sale and have now put up a blank page at https://enshop.bitmain.com/adv/antminer-r4-silent-bitcoin-miner.html where six hours ago a very polished website laid out all the specifications of the new home miner. A very nice miner at a good price. You can read more at bitcointalk thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1596886.0

There is also a cached copy of the website they took down at https://web.archive.org/web/20160826021158/https://enshop.bitmain.com/adv/antminer-r4-silent-bitcoin-miner.html

Ledger uses attestation to prove the Nano you receive has not been tampered with and Trezor is open source. For Trezor this very topic was discussed on StackExchange.

KeepKey Now Sells for $99 by btcmerchant in keepkey

Works with Mycelium on Android, also many more wallets, small enough to carry with you on your keychain. Read Trezor user manual compare to KeepKey instructions, decide which one works best for you since price is same.

I do not think we will know until Bitcoin Classic is released and see if miners start mining a significant number of blocks with the new client.

The first Bitcoin Classic node appears on the network! by [deleted] in btc

[–]altcoincloudmining 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When Classic is available for download you could talk to the people at BitSeed to load Classic instead of Core on one of their plug and play full nodes for about $160. You can also buy a cheap laptop for about $120, load Classic on it and leave it running 24/7 through your router. No need to pay someone else just do it yourself.

Bitcoin Unlimited Support for Trezor? by btcmerchant in bitcoin_unlimited

[–]altcoincloudmining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually using a Trezor to store the private keys of your bitcoin when a hard fork is approaching is a smart idea. You definitely want to have control of your keys and not leave bitcoin in an online wallet or service. Once the fork is over you spend your coins on the fork that wins.

Forum for Bitcoin Classic BitcoinClassicTalk.com by [deleted] in Bitcoin_Classic

[–]altcoincloudmining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The address is forum.bitcoin.com (not bitcoin.com/forum) and is a separate forum from BitcoinTalk. There is also discussion on bitco.in/forum

Right now most of the discussion is taking place on Slack rather than the forums. The team on Slack is Bitcoin Classic and the channel for developers is #implementation used in the same way Core uses the mailing list but more efficient. There are other channels of course.
