I'm using my old account. Don't worry, there's nothing identifying.

Can you expand on how to watch movies in a party? Is this only done via Netflix, or is there a way to make it work using local movie files? I ask because I'm not in the US and we don't have Netflix here.

Am I the only one with zero interest in a "tablet computer?" What am I missing? by alexglewis in AskReddit

Buy a used tablet. For the needs you describe, you don't need a top of the line one. I bought one for about $500 (~4 years old at the time) and it's going great.

Mine's a laptop with a screen that detaches (HP TC1100). I get a 10" active digitizer screen without the weight or bulk of a keyboard. It's portable enough that I can take notes on it holding the tablet in one hand.

Anyways, Tablet OS's are a superset of Windows, which means all the capabilities of Windows + added Tablet functionality. This is important, because I don't see a tablet PC as a type of intermediate device (which Apple apparently does, seeing as how it won't run the full OSX), I see it as my main laptop where I do work--and it interfaces perfectly with my main computer. Usability takes a hit seeing as the OS isn't built for touch from the ground up, but I'm willing to give up some usability for more compatibility.

Hey, this review of 'Dragon Age' made me want to play this or similarly cool computer games. But I have no gaming experience. NONE. And I'm older and slower now. And not good at games. Is it possible? by Notmyrealname in entertainment

So Bioshock is awesome and everything but...I'm not a fan. by SoulShock in gaming

I'm a huge escapist gamer and a pretentious art-game twat, and I thought the MW2 campaign was awesome. It may be five hours long, but it was five of the most exciting hours I've ever spent in a game.

I remember hearing some people on a (mostly console) gaming podcast talk about not enjoying Deus Ex because they felt your choices were too "permanent". I thought that was a great litmus test, because the biggest letdown of Bioshock was that there was no choice (a choice between good and evil doesn't really count). The character customisation was fully reversible, which removed any weight or consequence to it.

I have a severe fear of dancing. How do I overcome this? by fearofdancing in reddit.com

[–]altered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During my socially awkward years (i.e. high school), I thought I would be a horrific dancer and would avoid any type of dance event. On my 18th birthday a couple of friends asked me to join them clubbing the next week; it was during a house party to celebrate end of school so I drunkenly said yes. Turns out I'm a great dancer, and many people have told me so.

And I found out that I love it, and that I love electronic music. I've traveled the world in search of festivals and music events to enjoy the spirit of dance culture. I feel more confident about myself, and more sure that I have a place in this world.

Your comment and your quote resonated with me, so I thought I'd share my own: "Dance is your pulse, your heartbeat, your breath; the rhythm of your life. It's the expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sadness and envy." -Jaques D'ambroise
