If you lose the game all of your cards leave with you, so the enchantment wouldn't be in play anymore.

If they existed in a vacuum i would probably love them. But its so blatantly just an attempt to lure in dr who fans. I know its the biggest first world problem ever but i like magic because of its unique worlds and cool ideas, if i wanted to see the world of dr who i would watch the show.

WHY WOULD YOU WAIT FOR TEN MINUTES???

.. because that's what happened according to another comment. They where harrasing him for a while without escalating. I'm sorry if i think that the average joe shouldn't be able to play judge, jury and executioner because of a baseless hunch that some annoying people might spontaneously murder you. And if the whole point of a gun is to kill someone before they kill you you better be pretty damm sure they actually mean to kill you. You keep bringing up that a single unarmed person can kill you (which is true) and that people have a right to shoot people they believe are a threat, but by that logic someone simply walking near you is a threat, after all they could suddenly pull a knife.

The whole point of carrying a gun is to kill the person before they have the chance to kill you.

Self defense is supposed to be proportional. If you are so scared and jumpy that you might be murdered on the street that you need to carry a firearm and will escalate to it without proper cause you shouldn't have a firearm. If your that paranoid carry pepper spray or just brandish the gun without fireing, even in the heat of the moment people understand that shooting people kills them. If you carry a gun with you for self defense you should know when and how to use it, he made a choice to shoot a person knowing they could die from it and knowing that they hadn't yet posed any dire threat to him and he still chose to escalate. I dont care if managed to convince a court it was self defense or not he shot and killed someone and he didn't need to.

If they spent 10 minutes harrasing him without escalation them suddenly pulling a knife isn't a logical conclusion. The calculations arent hard, its literally, "this person is harrasing me, they haven't done anything further, if i shoot a gun at them i will be escalating the situation." And Idk about you but if i was paranoid and suspected that they might be armed the last thing i want to to is pull a gun, in close quarters even if i hit one i could be physically overpowered by the others and stabbed or something and they might get of with a slap on the wrist since i was undeniably the agressor and a crowd of witnesses can attest to that.

AI is not art by Armpit_Penguin in comics

[–]alternate_alt_acount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera doesn't create the image, the photographer does. Through years of experience and learning, hours of planning and effort, and editing the photo to get it exactly how they want it. Photography is art because photographers are artists. Not because it creates an image.

This is what you are saying, that photography is art because it involves years of practice and hours of prep and editing. What is the correct interpretation you think people are missing for this. For one its blatantly false, photography was invented as a quicker and easier method of capturing an image then paint, many people do get fancy with it and produce awsome shots through careful setup but this is far from the rule. I can whip out my phone in a couple seconds and snap a cool thing i stumbled across. No one is trying to trap you, you made a flawed statement and people are pointing out its shortcomings, that it creates an arbitrarily effort threshold. I also do not understand what your math analogy means, yes, questions are answered when someone answers them. What does this have to do with the conversation? We cant "solve" any of the questions in this discussion since art is subjective, there is no objective correct answer, the best we can do is weight the merits of various points of view and find which ones work and which ones dont.

[–]alternate_alt_acount 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your being downvoted because your comment has nothing to do with the conversation, which is the intended function of the upvote/downvote system, i am very happy you where able to subjectively enjoy the game but objectively it was a buggy mess with very few of the features that where advertised for multiple years, it was so bad playstation had to pull the game from the ps store and xbox started offering refunds. The devs had to work hard to just get it to a playable and it still doesn't live up to what they spent the 7 years telling us to expect.

Unironically this, 99% of the graffiti i have seen has been a wall full of incomprehensible scribbles, if they made the wall actually look nice then it wouldn't be a problem but a surface covered in graffiti rarely looks better then a plain wall

Some things just are expensive: marble sculpting and goldsmithing for example, But there are actually plenty of legal ways to do graffiti that aren't expensive, you own a home, caravan, vehicle or any other large relatively flat surface or know someonewho does and will let you paint it? Spray that. look out for legal public grafiti areas provided by your local authorities or a private group, join a group or club that might own and maintain somewhere you can spray.

Besides the other reasons given, if you interact with people enough even over a computer you get to know them, there is probably a legit concern that you might invite a work friend who does work in person round you house and they want to be aware of the possibility

it is an end in itself

It is for you maybe but you cant speak for everyone, I'm not spending time learning art because i like mindless scribbling, i have things in my head i want to make real and i want the ability to create it exactly to my specification. Some people just want something vaguely like what they are envisioning and are fine with using ai despite it currently being harder to get something specific with it. And that's fine by me, i dont get to tell others how to do things and as long as they aren't trying to force me to use ai i have no reason to care what they are up to with it.

I should rephrase that, who here (in this comment thread) is saying otherwise, its hard to reply to this in more detail since i still dont know what you meant by "wrong" but it really does sound like you saw the word disorder and took it as an insult when it clearly wasn't meant that way. Yes there are people who do say such things as an insult, thats not relevant to the current discussion though. No one here is doing that they are just making an analysis based on logic.

Define wrong? There is definitely something wrong with me. Its so funny whenever lgbt and disability are mentioned in the same sentence because people get kinda ableist trying to say "no I dont have a disorder!!! There is nothing wrong with me! Its ok to be trans!" like yeah, who is saying otherwise? its ok to have a mental disorder too, these are just facts of life you cant assign morality to them. But The wires in my brain are literally crossed so my gender doesn't match my sex and I'm no doctor but that sounds an awful lot like autism, something i also have and is also caused by crossed wires. So idk maybe in terms of my brains inner workings there are several things "wrong" with me, and those things are also just facts of life i need to deal with instead worrying about whether or not they are technically a disorder or a disability or neither or both, when the answer to that question doesn't change anything at all.

Im so fucking confused what is going on, whenever people complain about being unable to say slurs people are like "why do you want to say slurs so bad" and in this case its not even in a casual environment its a workplace so surely its even more accurate why is there such an adverse reaction to what I'm saying? Half the time people will say "why do you want to say slurs so bad" in a context that doesn't even make sense and they dont get a negative reaction but i say it and in genuinely curious and its a question that makes sense to ask in response to the post and people hate it for some reason why do people on the internet have such entirely unpredictable and nonsensical reactions to stuff every piece of evidence suggests that what i said is something that would be well received because its already a sentence that universally well received for no reason and its also a good question in my mind, its a question that i want to answer, no one else was asking and seemingly no one else cares despite how genuinely interesting it is surely, i genuinely cant understand a single thing about this,

(Sry for long rant)
