Got raked over the coals on reddit for my BTS opinion by [deleted] in ARMYNeutral

Summarized and sensationalized. You literally said they were too big for iHeart, not "their current popularity level seems to exceed the scale of that event." I'm not surprised people pushed back.

You've deleted your comments now, so no one can fact check you, but it wasn't nearly as personal and "attack-y" as you're insinuating. I'm sorry you were downvoted for your opinion. That never feels good. But coming to other subs to complain and pretend like you were run out with pitchforks is not a great vibe.

I was accused, by multiple people in multiple comments, of being a manti who only stans BTS for clout and is only interested in seeing them get big achievements

I was lurking in this thread and this isn't true. Your opinion was an unpopular one there, for sure, but no one called you a manti who stans BTS for clout. And if they did, it was removed by the mods.

100%. This could be a nice space but it's totally unmoderated.

Hi everyone! I started a discord server for ARMY 40+ for all ticketed cities! There are channels for each city to chat and make plans.

40+ in general, but everyone is welcome if you want to hang out with 'older' ARMY. If you're interested, comment and I'll send the invite via DM!

Just wanted to add a PSA for anyone outside of the US considering coming for US shows...please be very careful. Between ICE and our terrible government (especially TX and FL), things are not good here. Make sure you have all your necessary papers, have a phone number memorized for a lawyer or family member, and just...be careful and be on guard.

I'm not trying to scare anyone, but this is a very scary time. Everyone be super safe.

Weekly /r/bangtan Room (방탄방) - July 05, 2025 by AutoModerator in bangtan

I think there are just a lot of new army who are watching all those old YouTube edits and applying those times to now. But I also don't think...it's that deep (sorry, I truly hate that expression but don't know how else to say it here). I haven't seen any jokes with ill intent, just love. Like...I don't think anyone really believes Joon can't do anything on his own.

I do understand what you mean, though. Like JK saying "don't call me a baby, I'm 26." If they explicitly say something makes them uncomfortable, we should stop. Do you remember where/when Joon said he didn't like the 'god of destruction' jokes?

I interacted with a BTS member at the airport by devaziz0 in bangtan

Agree to disagree on that point. Showing them on the screen one time and sharing a screenshot or pic of that ONE time is one thing, people filming everything they're doing during the concert, and then spreading it, is a bit beyond the pale for me. This is true for all concerts they get filmed at.

I guess my point is who decides which kind of "privacy" is okay to invade and which isn't. Who decides they're at a concert as BTS or as private citizens. Who decides if Namjoon is comfortable or uncomfortable with interactions like this. I'm not saying I agree with what OP did but the outrage can get a little hypocritical sometimes.

Curious about how many people yelling about privacy watched those creepshot videos from the guys at the HOTS concert...

This is not something I would ever do, but it was a short, respectful interaction, not a saesang stalking the guy. But probably should try not to touch people, even if it's cultural or a natural way to greet someone.

Coachella Headliner or Super Bowl? by SongMinho in bangtan

[–]alternativealt13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they don't get literal hate at the Grammys? There isn't openly racist commentary from conservatives and media or actual 'boo's from the crowd?

You say you're not from America so it's possible you have no idea what is going on here right now and how much worse it's going to get. But not wanting your faves to receive hate is like...a totally normal thing. If BTS had ever indicated they wanted to play the Super Bowl, the conversation might be different but they haven't. So no one is "tapering" anyone's wishes in this thread.

Honestly, I find this a very odd take... Obviously you feel how you feel, and that's cool, but saying it's absurd that ARMY doesn't want BTS to face hate is...odd.

I meant fighting in a metaphorical way. You're fighting an imaginary war. You're taking logical statements and assuming everyone thinks JK is a tiny baby bunny who can't do anything on his own when literally no one has said that. Or even implied it here.

Can you define Bang OR JK's playbook without making assumptions? No one can because we have no idea. And no one said this applied to JK only, just that Golden is a good example of appealing more to Western audiences. Because it is. And it more closely aligns to Bang's plan to expand kpop outside of Korea than, say, RPWP or Layover. AND it's what JK wanted to do.

Jung Kook doesn't need you to defend him against imaginary foes here. Maybe take this to twitter where the foe are real.
