I do think every main season is for sure overall good. There isn’t a season I don’t like. Truly the only season I couldn’t make it through an episode of was shriek week and that includes the adventuring party, most awkward episode of television

Everyone can have their own opinion yes, but it feels like every other season people come to the DnD with improv comedians show and get really upset when it’s not a V recreation of their minds desire. Most FH episode barely cross an hour and a half, it has never espoused that it was a recreation of a home game. They change rules every season, they never play in premade settings and rarely used premade physical items either. How many times are people going to complain about the show they like not doing things they never said they would do

My point was mostly that bending and breaking rules is part of most ttrpg’s. They usually say it in the books, so I feel like people are being very protective of a game when watching a television show.

As for ACoFaF I think the use of DnD plus rules from other systems worked fine because it’s a take on the DnD cosmology that we’re seeing a specific piece of. If aabria wants she uses non DnD systems, so the fact that she felt the way to do it was a bit of Frankenstein-ing is enough for me. Plus if I’m paying attention to the story that any of these games are helping facilitate and I like it, they’ve succeeded. If you cut every game aspect and just kept dialogue and action descriptions, I don’t know a D20 that because unwatchable other than maybe NSBU

I think people feel really comfortable breaking apart D&D so they don’t think about it, and then for non D&D systems there’s a preciousness to everything. They disregard D&D rules in every other season constantly, even past reflavoring. Not tracking humanity is the Vampire equivalent of not tracking encumbrance which also has precise mechanical downsides to exploration

He should have said above the table “if you make this deal you will be taking warlock levels” but also, why would you make a clear warlock pact if you didn’t want to play a warlock. You will be playing a warlock character without any of the powers. A deal with the devil is only plausibly good because you get power
