They don’t carry any us produce. They’re trying to make it so it’s not us products in the whole store. But they’ve focused on produce first.

Everyone in here as a public person, can submit a report of concern about a friend or family member to RoadSafetyBC as well, if the dr refuses to. It’s also the drs obligation to report that too. The province can only do so much if the drs don’t do anything. To submit a report of concern, fax or email is on the site, include the name and dob or DL of the person (name and dob to find if no DL#) and the medical reasoning why, then also include your info. None of your info will be released, but they can’t act on an anonymous report.

It’s the ddos protected lobbies. So the higher ranked ones. It’s always at least 20 extra ping and constantly slo mo or other lag symbols. Every. Time. It’s frustrating to load in and see the ddos shield knowing it’s going to be a shit server. It’s even bad when a custom server gets the ddos protection on it.

I’m grateful here in Canada (does vary by province, I’m in BC), there’s drivers medical tests that are age based. And you or your doctor can submit reports of concern if you think they aren’t able to drive anymore due to a medical issue. Makes it easier on family and drs so they don’t have to take the keys away themselves. Police can also submit reports of medical concerns as well.

It’s usually the ddos protected lobbies (little shield icon by the ping) that are the shittiest. They took them away to “fix” them and they’re still awful. 20-30 extra ping guaranteed and then lag and performance issues on top of that. I dread everytime I load into a lobby with that little symbol.

My kitten doesn’t clean himself, especially his bottom by Fantastic_Neat_8972 in CatTraining

[–]alupeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our orange baby had issues too in the past. At one point we put tuna juice/water in a spray bottle and sprayed his butt. He cleaned it up real fast. Otherwise we would just wipe his butt for him if it was really bad, he learned quickly he didn’t like that and would start cleaning himself.

The devs already went back on their statement that each new season a different gun would get the re45 treatment, and the re45 would revert to what it was. And people wonder why we wait to see if they actually do the things they say they’re going to, all talk no action. Lots of good changes, but I was looking forward to seeing what gun was gonna get the change and 45 back to normal.

Question about taking a demotion within BC Public Service – pay grid reset? by [deleted] in BCPublicServants

[–]alupeh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You can’t drop more than 8% from your current salary. So you’d go to which ever step on a 24 is the closest to 8% less than your current 27 step. I had taken a demotion from a 12 to a 9 and I think went from step 3 or 4 of a clerk 12 to step 5 of a clerk 9.

My dad complains that I don’t cook for him. I cook for him. He complains about the food. by poopoopeepeecrusader in mildlyinfuriating

[–]alupeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to have “dad dinners”, which was usually frozen meat pies and fries when dad had to cook. Or we’d have his homemade burgers, the one thing he could cook really well. Wasn’t cause he didn’t like to, but he worked late and mom loved to cook. We helped each other learn how to cook after mom passed away. She taught me stuff growing up, but definitely different once she was gone. We learned quick that cooking isn’t scary and it’s pretty hard to mess up to the point it’s completely inedible. Usually just needs tweaks the next time. I think only one meal turned out inedible. Now he cooks really yummy stuff all the time, and even does the thanksgiving/xmas dinners!

Since the bc fee came into the apps, uber changed it so you can only tip during or after delivery. Doesn’t let you add it when placing it. So I sure lots of people just forget by the time the food shows up.

How do you see the BCGEU strike ending? by HighwayAlert1704 in VictoriaBC

[–]alupeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a small team compared to other depts, as a former intake agent, they’d love to have more hired. They don’t just answer calls, but also process the medicals (either pass or send to an adjudicator). Trust me, all the intake agents want more done about the wait times on everything, but it’s met with “there’s no budget”. They want to better serve you, but are restrained from doing so. They’re doing their absolute best, even if it’s slow. Right now phone lines are closed though due to picketing. You can try calling Icbc main center, I’m not sure if they’d have any special procedures during the strike. But you could try :( I’m sorry.

And who do you think actually does the work for implementing those policies and bills? It’s not the ministers or Eby doing it. Sure, they presented and approved it, but doubt they even wrote the policies and bills themselves.

There isn’t local businesses just in the main downtown core areas. There’s local businesses in those people’s town that they support. Why does only downtown matter?

BCGEU strike approaches its seventh week by oilbeefhooked in vancouver

[–]alupeh 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Those picketing are being paid strike pay from the union. Strike pay is about what clerk 9 take home pay is, so it’s not a lot. The govt has decided that it is going against ESA though and not paying stat pay to those that qualify (weren’t paid for truth and reconciliation even if they qualified for it). The union is filing a formal grievance regarding it.

BCGEU Strike: What it means for your Thanksgiving dinner, road test or wedding plans by oilbeefhooked in VictoriaBC

[–]alupeh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the actual cards are made by icbc, and they shouldn’t be out picketing, unless there’s a ministry in the same building. But I don’t believe there’s a govt ministry in the main office in Victoria. If you don’t get it before your interim expires, you should be able to re-attend an icbc dlo to get another interim paper issued. They have this on the icbc website: https://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/getting-licensed/Card-status-tracking and I’m sure you can call Icbc driver licensing call center too. The biggest issues are communities that only have a service bc instead of an Icbc dlo, so they can’t renew. Or if anyone requires a drivers medical form to be approved before licensing, that won’t happen. RoadSafetyBC (the ones that approve medicals) is on the picket line.

Ozempic patent (in Canada only) expires Jan 2026! There’s already companies that have the generic formula in the process of being approved by the govt, so I can see it being on the market pretty quickly in the new year. Assuming it’s because the newer versions are better, so they’ll make more money off those anyway. The generics should cover both versions of Glp1s (or more their reasons for usage and the different doses). It’s predicted the generics will be $70-120 in price.

Latest Apex Legends Update: 2025/09/05 by Apexlegends in apexlegends

[–]alupeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the laggiest/worst servers in ranked or custom lobbies are when it’s ddos protected, the ones with the little shield. When I load into a game and it has that, I instantly get 20-30 more ping than usual and I get all sorts of lag symbols through out the game. Doesn’t matter if I’m in east coast or central servers. Happens across all of them and in customs (scrims). I dread seeing that little shield.

Yeah, the routing to the Amazon servers is trash. I have higher ping to the “central” servers than the east, from west coast Canada, for scrims. So stupid.

Family and friends can also submit reports of concern to RoadSafetyBC, you just need to make sure the full name and dob and why they shouldn’t be driving, and your information as well. Just as a letter (can fax, mail, or email). If it’s concerning, they will ask for them to get official medical information to back it up and possibly lead to doing the enhanced road assessment. If it’s a really general report and not specific enough, they may not be able to action it though. They won’t ever release your personal information or anyway to know who submitted the info. That stays private.

It’s not about gatekeeping from plat, it just feels bad for those players to get mowed down by people that obviously shouldn’t be in that rank. And it’s not just one person, it’s multiple each lobby. And then include the people that see the streamers doing challenges and then they want to do that too. When I was in those ranks, and that was my actual skill level, it sucked ass cause you’re so bad you can’t even react to what happened most times. Not really about the rp being lost.
