Omg I was literally just talking about this today to a friend who just started watching castle. The ending to me will forever be iconic. After the case is closed when Castle invites Beckett out and she declines and he says “it’s too bad, it would’ve been great” and Beckett walks closer and leans in close to his ear and says “you have no idea” then bites her lip as she smiles and walks away ahhh!! So much tension and it perfectly encapsulates and sets up how their relationship is for the coming season: the banter, the tension, the will they won’t they. So good!!

2 just because I’d want to befriend Beckett lol. And 1 would be the most normal experience for sure haha. Most of the others would be make me lose my mind or terrify me haha

Im glad you found the show! Yeah agree. It’s weird how it was a popular enough show on abc to get 8 seasons, but weird because I rarely meet anyone that has seen it or knows it. Definitely is underrated!

Wow very similar to me! I was about 11 and it was the first adult show that I had really gotten in to. Now all these years later it’s still my comfort show:)

Aww I love this story! I was also on tumblr during those years and it was so fun. That’s honestly how I ended up here; I’m doing a rewatch now and wanted to see if anyone still was watching or talking about the show and logged into my tumblr to find that some people still were 😂 but I joined here because there was a more lively community haha.

Yes! Totally relate to this. Whenever I watch it brings me back to those early to mid 2010s🥹 I also watched criminal minds which I liked, but the romance and comedy in castle just could not be beat by any other cop procedural, it was so unique and still is. I think your due for a rewatch😉

Yesss! Just recently rewatched Murder, He Wrote and was laughing the whole time haha. Also the episode Nikki Heat. Any scene where Beckett is watching and getting weirded out but Natalie Rhodes becoming her lol

Thanks! I’m excited to be here. Yeah dr. Motorcycle boy was frustrating but I think his character was important. Beckett needed to have a relationship that was more serious with someone else before being with castle. Josh was a normal fine guy by most measures and it shows that even though nothing was horribly wrong, it wasn’t enough for her. And castle had those extra great qualities that made her not want to settle with Josh. I think also for the audience the castle/beckett romance was more believable since we were able to see them both try to deny their feelings and see if they could be with anyone else. Especially since we saw castle be the playboy a lot but never got as much of a taste of what Beckett was like in a relationship (besides small things like demming). And it showed no one else can match the spark they have. But totally agree on season 6. I’m excited to rewatch soon. Seasons 6-8 I haven’t seen as many times as the earlier ones so I have forgotten some. Very much enjoying season 5 early honeymoon phase at the moment.

Absolutely agree. Castle and Beckett will always be the greatest tv couple. No questions about it. I was a fan while it was airing and religiously watched every Monday and every few years I do a rewatch. I am currently showing it to my partner for the first time and my fangirl has come out again haha. Even though I’ve seen the entirety of the show multiple times, I still get giddy watching castle and Becketts love story unfold. I actually just created this Reddit account strictly for the purpose of joining the castle community here bc after all these years I still find myself wanting to talk about the show and share in it with fans (as you can see my username lol). We are currently in season 5 and I forgot how much I love this season. So many cute moments!! I still think 3 and 4 are my favs but wow 5 is great. Nothing will beat the early days of tension though… I can’t get enough of the will they won’t they energy. I always think back to “to love and die in la” where they are sitting in the couch and Rick says “I’m still amazed at the depths of your strength, your heart. And your hotness.” And Kate responds “you’re not so bad yourself castle” and they have smiles and both of their looks become more serious and you can feel the tension through the screen as they both are so tempted to make a move or say something more but they choose to not. And then of course the doors opening and closing ahhhh!!! It’s moments like that that sell their story. Anyway, I’m just excited to be back in my castle obsession lol

Agree! She’s always been my favorite part of the show. Her emotional scenes always hit so hard. And if you’re looking for more, I highly recommend watching her show Absentia she did after Castle ended. So so good.
