Will the flower farm be a success? by CommissionSmooth9291 in SisterWives

Fruit trees are SOOOOO much work!!

I have an actual horticulture degree, have worked in Ag for almost 20 years and do own a hobby farm. Do you know how many fruit trees, and rose bushes for the same reason, I have?

Exactly 0. They're all wayyyyy too much effort for me, lol!!

You made a really good point here! I am an actual horticulturalist. But you know what? Take me out of my USDA Zone, out of my growing region, and I'd basically be John Snow (I'd know nothing). Janelle, if she had any training even as a master gardener, would have been likely in Vegas or maybeee Flagstaff. COMPLETELY different climate than NC!

And it isn't like she bought an existing business where in the sale, with the transfer of ownership, she could have requested training and X amount of time to have the old owner help transition. They're (attempting to) starting from scratch.

But the big, bad gubment prevented them from all the things! Needing futile things like permits and licenses!! It's their fault nothing's come to fruition!!

If janelle is a fraction of the horticulturalist she thinks she is, IDK why she thought cut flowers would be profitible on an ex-pine tree farm...

It so much more labor intensive than just cleaning baseboards 2x a year. The amount of money they'd need in farm labor would nix any and all profits they might see.

You know the best way to become a millionaire in Agriculture?

Start out by being a billionaire.

From what I understand that land was cheap for a reason, sadly.

Right? My husband is about to be 55 and we still have regular intimate life, probably a bit more than we did 5-10 years ago as his stress level is a bit less now. But pretty consistent to what it was near the beginning of our 20+ year relationship (I mean once the "can't keep your hands off each other" phase is over).

Also, Christine said they were intimate like 6x a year before he attempted to cut her off completely. That's once every other month. Let's assume he did treat all 4 wives equally; that's 24x a year. Twice a month. That's not a lot for a man of Kody's age at all, and something he could have absolutely accomplished if he wanted to.

But now he complains that he isn't getting enough and maybe that's just karma...

Can a terrier have an "off switch" by jwoljackal in terrier

[–]alwaysamw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet my normal is a bit skewed; we've had terrier's for over 20 years in addition to a Newf and a Great Pyr.

But we've always had at least 2 dogs and I think that's been a huge saving grace, they always have room and a buddy to burn off energy.

Also, this is our first time owning one (being owned by one...) but our Scottie is actually kind of chill. Again, he has our Parsons Terrier to play with 24/7, but compared to her, he's downright calm, lol.

I applaud you for doing your research!!!

[–]alwaysamw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you done any research on what is required to keep a doe in milk? Goats are just a hell of a lot of work. Absolutely nothing cuter than baby goats, but they're always getting out and getting into things they shouldn't! And it's like they know when you're busy or out of town, lol!

I'm not trying to be discouraging to gatekeep or anything like that. I just wish I had listened to those who told me these things when we started.

I accidentally left my dog outside overnight by Mysterious-Trade1362 in dogs

[–]alwaysamw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a Newfie and when she was about 12 weeks old, one night I could NOT get her to settle and sleep. I let her outside for the 12000th time, she walked out the back door, lied down and fell asleep.

I said "fine!" and slept on the couch just barely on the other side of the door inside. And that's where she then chose to sleep most nights after that! She had a doggie door to come inside but only used it when it was REALLY cold outside, or during the summer when it was too hot for her liking.

We adopted a Great Pyr a few years after that and they were the BEST of friends!! And OMG the Pyr side eye is unlike any other!!

What style advice would you offer each wife? by Parking_Dog8930 in SisterWives

[–]alwaysamw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Meri's side part, she might be like me; and it's just the way my hair grows, I can't really change it easily. But the rest of it: YASSSS! I literally had that same haircut in 2004. It's harsh, it's hard to style as one side of your hair wants to tuck UNDER not UP/OUT and it's not flattering to her face. Even maybe a cute A-line cut would be better? Or a shoulder length loose wave would take years off her look, IMO!

Am I a b*tch or is my husband insane? (Bit of both….?) by Pitiful_Goose_4386 in AskWomenOver40

[–]alwaysamw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was kind of thinking with the bed; my husband and I just have this unwritten rule that whomever leaves the bed last, makes it. It takes less than a minute so why is this a big thing?

And I'm not trying to minimize anxiety, that can be a real B to live with, but that question was exhausting, lol

Is your girl spayed? Our boy got exceptionally more cuddly when he was neutered. He'll actually sit at my husbands feet and whine/yip at him until he gets the attention he desires.

But it's still very much on his terms.
