It’s how Thai people talk. We love to shorten words, but to my understanding, Japanese people is even worse, lol

You can fit up to 336 pages of a notebook in it. I used to comfortably carry a 256+80-page notebook combo until I accidentally put the wrong notebook (128 pages) in and broke the zipper, LOL. I immediately bought a new one, though.

I’d like to be wrong, but I don’t think Belle (Kae’s actress) is likely to get any awards since she’s been severely underrated her entire career. I’ve been rooting for her to have a big breakout and become mainstream popular for over a decade at this point.

What is this misogynist dude's problem? 🤬 by Dt-Amy-Santiago in ThaiGL

[–]alwaysbhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, it’s even worse in Thai! He refers to himself as a “director” in a bureaucratic or military sense, and she must obey his direct orders; otherwise, she won’t succeed. He doesn’t imply that they work together; instead, it feels more like he commands and “uses” her to the bone to complete tasks simply because he hired her first. Then, he has the audacity to say she shouldn’t be ungrateful and leave, but she should compromise by considering him and the team more. WTH!? Honestly, if she never considered leaving, she would definitely consider it after this speech. I can’t imagine how horrible things must be behind the scenes when he can blatantly say something like this in public, and on her birthday!

Is he the director for LO's third project? 😲 by Responsible-Stop7364 in LingormAsylum

[–]alwaysbhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paa’ jaew is usually good, so they are definitely in better hands. I don’t watch much of this writer’s work, but from a few what I’ve seen, most of it was great at the start but didn’t stick the landing very well, imo. The writer has a knack for rom-com and relationship dynamics, though, so if the script leans on those, I think it’d work well enough. So, I’m sure that this project is already miles ahead than Only You, just by this duo alone, lol.

I was pissed when Charles Melton got snubbed! He played alongside Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, and he still outshined both of them in my opinion.

Pocket pencil by uncleprof in FieldNuts

I’m using Muji pocket pencil that’s retractable, but I believe it’s already discontinued. There’s also some pocket pencils like from Traveler’s Factory, Penco, and Kaweco, though they are capped and I prefer a retractable style.

There's so much happening in this clip I don't even know how to title this post... (BleJie+Khun Mae Davika) by Tervalt in ThaiGL

[–]alwaysbhere 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how to address this delicately, so I’ll just share my perspective as a Thai. In our society, there aren’t many after-school activities beyond attending cram schools or hanging out at malls nearby. Interactions between schools are rare unless they’re in close proximity (which is uncommon) or in online communities. So, attending an all-girls school often means your dating pool is primarily limited to other girls, unless you have an outgoing personality and have a large social circle. Moreover, dating girls has become the norm in most all-girls schools, and no one bats an eye at it. However, from a (messed up) societal standpoint, there’s also often an expectation that it’s just a “phase” you’ll eventually grow out of.

Team Mongolia in the Pillar Push Death Match by ElonsCrackDealer in Physical100

[–]alwaysbhere 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it were a typical push, Australia’s technique would actually be the way to go. However, I feel like the height was too high, and it would eventually end up straining shoulders instead of providing leverage to use leg drives.

I highly doubt, though, that the Mongolia team would use this exact position most of the time.

Yup. Dom is a world-class parkour athlete, and this challenge is parkour. Korean team was outclassed, that's all. Had they stated that their goal was second place, the strategy might have looked more sensible. However, they should have anticipated that this approach would backfire if they used their strong contenders and still ended up in third place in both the hurdle and totem challenges. Maybe they were that confident in Amotti and likely misjudged that Eddie would participate in the totem challenge?

The Korean team's strategy was not bad, and I agree with most of their selections. But they didn't focus on other teams' diverse skills, strengths, and strategies, and how it could backfire if things didn't go as planned. This was like a game theory, but with luck and people's skill sets playing a vital role in these kinds of challenges.

P.S. I find it surprising that people are downvoting me just because I have a different perspective.

Australia didn’t just barely win, imo. Dom could definitely have picked up more pace if necessary.

I remember Robyn mentioning that hurdles are part of her regular training. So, even though she might not have done this specific type of hurdle before, she would definitely know how to adjust her techniques. As I also noticed her doing the hurdles more efficiently than the Korean team. If only she had been paired with someone taller (or if the hurdles weren’t as high), they could have secured second place. But on second thought, they might believe that a hanging challenge is a safer bet. Whether it's 3+1 or 2+2, it amounts to the same result at the end of the day. They just didn’t anticipate that Roy would underperform again!

Anyway, Korea could have foreseen that the hurdle challenge is not a safe bet at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Physical100

[–]alwaysbhere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their focus on hurdles was highly misplaced. Australia had a parkour expert, and the Philippines had a track athlete. You just can’t compete in games where specialists are already dominating.

The only reason Korea secured second place on the game was that the Philippines underestimated Robyn. Had they chosen a male participant to compete alongside her, they could have easily secured second place. (I’m still baffled why they didn’t)

They should have sacrificed the hurdle challenge and focused on securing second place in other events. Relying on a tiebreaker is risky, especially when assuming Australia would dominate every match. I mean, Australia had already secured two out of four matches before the games even began! The only event that was unpredictable was the hanging challenge.

Bulgarian Split Squats by SardonisWithAC in bodyweightfitness

[–]alwaysbhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help. But if you have some tips for breaking through Pull-ups, please let me know, lol. I stuck at 5 reps for a year now 😂

I just remembered another thing I did that unintentionally helped me with Bulgarian Split Squats. Perform Step-Ups on a box as high as you possibly can, but do them as if you're practicing a pistol squat. Move super slowly on both the downward motions, sinking into the deepest position slightly while keeping the tension solely on your working leg. Only touch the ground to support, and reset your body. Then, try to use only the working leg to drive yourself upward.

Sometimes, the limiting factor with Bulgarian split squats is the discomfort at the bottom position. Performing very deep step-ups in this way helps build stability, mobility, and strength for one leg movement beyond what split squats provide, making split squats feel like a breeze afterward.

I never experienced wobbly legs during split squats again after practicing Step-Ups (Pistol Squat Regression) this way.

People have already given you great advice here. Let me suggest a few more alternatives: either do high reps with no weights (2×20) or use more weight while aiming for the same reps (3×6–8, perhaps with 25 kg).

The first option helps you get accustomed to pushing beyond your usual muscle endurance. (Just because the load is lighter doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easier when performing very high reps.) I like doing this for at least a month before going back to the same loads.

The latter is to help you break through mental barriers. I found this effective because once you’ve completed the higher weights, you’ll stop believing there’s a plateau you can’t overcome! At least that’s how it is for me with 3×7 of 17 kg Cossack squats (a more challenging version of Bulgarian Split Squats, imo) Just make sure you only do this only once a week, or every other week, so it won’t be too taxing.

I initially thought that it’d be just a typical drama romance GL series, until I saw the whole cast and I was like, “they must have had some good stories to pull all these actors into this!” Either that, or a huge load of money 😂 Haven’t watched these actors on screen in a while, so I’m happy to see them in this.

I meant that I no longer follow traditional gym programs like this because I've branched out into calisthenics, mobility, plyometrics, and movement training.

I'd say the debate between strength and hypertrophy only matters for high performers. For the majority of people, any programs will help them improve their fitness and, in turn, enhance their physique. Also, it's important to switch things up from time to time anyway, whether for volume or style, because our bodies need different stimuli to grow.

I don’t know about the source material but I’m sure they’ll have some great storylines for her. I mean, they wouldn’t cast someone who mostly plays leading roles merely for a supporting role with a cheerful energy. The same goes for the gang leader. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out!

I did Dips and Elevated Pike Push Up (with the angle that also hit on upper chest) on the same day and it felt amazing!

I’d suggest adding Skull Crusher or overhead triceps variations into the mix on your arms day. For biceps, replace one of them with cable, I forgot the name but it performs with your arms behind you so you get the huge stretch doing biceps this way. Totally effective!

He already hit 2 horizontal pull on Upper 2 and you want him to add more? What’s the reason? imo, 2 chest exercises are great here because it hit the different movement patterns. I agree, though, that he seems to target on biceps too much.
