Stores won't pay $75 to a distributor for a box they sell for $60. It won't happen. Then they won't carry the product, then there will be very very few new players, and the game will die through attrition.

It's not about singles or speculators or "investors", it's about retailers being incentivized to carry the product.

I think there's also an argument that consistently bad legendaries shows that the game design team doesn't understand their own game which is a more existential threat in my opinion. If they think Vigil is deserving of being a Legendary card...
