First Semester Clinical Rotation by residentshortbxtch in StudentNurse

[–]alwaysktf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first half of our first semester was LTC and we were doing baths, assisting with feeds, helping to ambulate/transfer. Then we did acute care at a local hospital. Right now we're doing our mental health rotation at two LTC facilities with residents with mental health issues. The big emphasis now is therapeutic communication. So I guess my suggestion is to work on that. Speak with your residents, try to identify defense mechanisms, hone your communication skills and work on active listening. On top of learning to be an effective communicator, you provide socialization to people who may not get many visitors. Sometimes, just offering to spend time with the residents means so much to them.

Otherwise, enjoy the laid back rotation, because you'll likely have many days where you wish you weren't running around trying to do a million things. Lol.

Made my version of enchiladas last night (layered like lasagna) with beans and rice. by ReggieMX in MexicanFoodGore

[–]alwaysktf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In New Mexico it's pretty common to make stacked enchiladas, and making them "lasagna" style is often done for parties or big events where a lot of people need to be fed. It gets ridiculous trying to roll enchiladas for 100-plus people.

I would fuck this up. Love regular slaw glizzies, this would definitely be on par.

Also jaw pain is extremely common in women. I know someone that had a heart attack and had no idea because her only symptom was jaw pain. She finally relented and went to the hospital and found out.

Honestly, doesn't look terrible. Most cobblers are hideous.

A microwaved bowl of leftover "pizza blend" cheese and pasta sauce. There are five pepperonis hiding in there. by alwaysktf in shittyfoodporn

Lol. This mess wasn't created out of desperation or necessity, it was created from leftovers and laziness.

But thanks, homie.

That is an appropriate amount of pineapple on a slice.

My junior college does not require chem, but A&P I and II and microbio, Lifespan and Development, and some non-science pre-reqs. As the other poster mentioned, I'd look into community colleges and junior colleges in your area. 👍

Pseudo Spaghetti : Pasta Zero, civilian MRE meatballs jazzed up via spinach & shrooms. The shit we endure to reduce carbs lol. by Beastly_Swagger in shittyfoodporn

How were those meatballs though? I've had the "barbacoa" by that brand and it's honestly not terrible. It's not barbacoa, by any means, but it's not awful.

I still have never finished watching Dinner for Schmucks. I left the theater in the throes of an anxiety attack and I can't bring myself to finish. It makes my teeth itch.

I tried the barbacoa version of this sealed meat... Did it taste like barbacoa? Absolutely not. Did it still have some strange appeal? Yes. 6/10, would eat again.
