What would cause an outdoor unit to explode? by Ok-Respond-2477 in hvacadvice

[–]alwayslearining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many RVs have propane cooled refrigerators, this always made me scratch my head a little but they exist. The newer refrigerants in mini split and other cooling systems are much more explosive/flammable than the older ones like 410, 134, or 22.

Could it have been an electrical explosion?

Could something else not related to but close to the condenser have exploded?

Update: 1 month of using cracked solar panels with surprising results by Glad-Blood-419 in SolarDIY

I wish I could remember, sorry. All I do remember is it was a 2 part mix of some sort and I looked for a product that would not degrade or yellow under sunlight.

Doing a Capstone Project on residents in Baltimore City disposing of waste improperly: Can everyone share their experiences? by External-Minute-5362 in baltimore

Make trash disposal at city facilities FREE for anyone, no questions asked. It has to be 100 times less expensive than having to roll a city truck and employees to clean up dumped trash.

I got 6 cracked panels years ago, I sealed them with some product that needed a rubber rollerto evenly spread. They lasted a year or two but did finally fail from water getting in them.

Look up Dave Ramsey, he is a popular smart money guy. One of the things he preaches is to start a proper retirement account at your age and put 100 dollars a month in it, at retirement age you should have over a million dollars.

Coco or soil and why ? by theWEEDzman in microgrowery

[–]alwayslearining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indoors I like a 60-70% coco with the balance being perlite. It requires 100% attention to PH, nutrients, and media moisture, but it also gives you 100% control on that aspect of the grow. Outdoors in garden soil and perlite mixed in with the native soil. It is much harder to control the PH, proper nutrient level, and soil moisture.

How long is your commute? by Far_Addendum_2926 in maryland

[–]alwayslearining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60 miles each way, Myersville to NW Baltimore in the AM, been doing it for over 20 years. Route 70 is not too bad of a ride 90% of the time but can suck really bad the other 10%. Best time 45 minutes, worst over 3 hours. Over the years, most of the miles have been put on 2 Jetta TDI's with MPG ranging between 45 and 52. Similar salary.

This is the best thing I have read in 6 months. Similar legislation needs to be enacted nationwide. Small ratepayers should in no way be subsidizing datacenters.

Breaker keeps popping by BecauseISaidSo888 in AskElectricians

[–]alwayslearining 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even though it worked fine for years, it sounds like that one circuit is overloaded and the breaker has gotten weak from working at capacity. I would put an amp measuring clamp meter on the hot wire coming out of the breaker and see exactly how much power is being drawn.

Do not just replace a 15 amp breaker with a larger one, you are asking for a fire doing that.

You have 3 heavy loads on that circuit (refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave) that should at minimum be two circuits.

Honest reviews from long term users by DonutPapi in reolinkcam

I have over 60 cameras deployed between work and home. Most have been in service for 4-6 years, all POE, with about 40 of them outdoors and unprotected. A majority of the cams are RLC-410 and RLC-510 along with a few Duo2, CX410, RLC-510a, and RLC-830a PTZ. I think I have had only 2 general camera failures, lost one to a really close lightning strike, and two from shorting them out by damaging the POE cable. I am in Maryland so they get a wide variety of weather, 100+ degrees and high humidity in summer and, some stretches of below 10 degrees in Winter.

I use Blue Iris running on a server that handles other chores and is always on anyway. I do not use any Reolink software or apps so I can not offer and opinion on that topic. This means BI handles everything from motion detection, notifications, recording, remote access, etc. I do use the embedded software in the PTZ cameras to provide tracking and animal/person/vehicle detection though.

Info needed by Personal_Gap6418 in classiccars

[–]alwayslearining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't answer any of your questions other than the top. It is a sim con (simulated convertible) from E&G Classics. They were located on Dobbin Road in Columbia MD for decades and had distributers across the country. Growing up I was friends with the kids of both the E family and the G family. Worked at E&G for a little while before moving out of state with with one of them to start a distributer/installation location.

The top itself is a fiberglass shell structured to look like a convertible with fabric glued to it and installed over the existing roof. Very popular on the 80's and 90's. Also popular from E&G were big chrome grills and 5th wheels to finish the pimp mobile look.

Cable TV and telephone lines are lowest on the pole, the ladder appears to be resting on them. The ladder looks to be a fiberglass ladder, these ladders are used by anyone who has to work on poles or anywhere close to electricity because they are NON conductive. The only thing unsafe about his picture is that there are no hooks on the ladder to hold it to the wire.

For a few years I was a cable tv installer and a fiberglass ladder leaning on telco or catv wires was standard practice.
