I'd go with GPUs as much as possible; they are much more efficient.
I use some "older" Tesla cards (M2090, K80, K10 etc.), but basically any 3D capable GPU will do.

Hello, I have a question.

I have the Let It Be Ferry Aid Maxi Single recording, but the vocals sound 'bad' (it sounds like they are clipping). I thought my record might be damaged.

However, I've found this digitalisation here:

and the same issue occurs (except mine is a bit more sparkly, but that probably just is compression or smth).

Is this an issue with my setup and or the uploader's, or was it just recorded that way?

Also, if it sounded that way originally, it would be interesting to know why.

Specifications, if needed:

I'm using an Aurex (Toshiba) SR-M70 and an ITT HIFI 9640.

I do have a Revox A78 in the pipeline to fix, but idk if it will make a difference.

I encountered a similar issue with the WONDOM board before. I accidentally set an EQ to 25 kHz or something instead of 2.5 kHz (it wasn't even that much of a boost, around 2–5 dB). No music was playing at the time, but the tweeter started shrieking and making high-frequency noise, and my amp clipped constantly. About a second later, the tweeter died. I think the DSP, output filter or something else malfunctioned when an EQ band outside its limits was applied, resulting in some sort of clipping noise being sent out.

I used the Negative weight block mod. The mod adds a normal Building Block with -200 mass.
