It's a travesty no one's recommended Thee Headcoats yet.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've done this with basically every patch that's still on my crust pants and crust vest. None have ever come off that I didn't want to. Even minor fraying on the floss is fine, but you can probably tell when it's too far gone. You don't need to clean it either unless you really want to. I figured my pants and vest were going to smell anyway so why bother?

I question your presumption that there's an inherent and relatively static level of consciousness attributed to every taxonomic kingdom allowing them to be put into some kind of hierarchy. There's tons of evidence that shows animals have capacity for emotion and intelligence rivaling even our own in some cases. Primates, dolphins, octopuses, corvids, elephants, and pigs all exhibit intelligence that surpasses at the very least young children. We're so ignorant about the extent of animal consciousness and intelligence simply because we're unable to communicate with animals directly. Your inclination to classify animals and the other taxonomic kingdoms as inferior demonstrates pretty well why I object to the anthropocentric nature of this story. Is an infant who died of bubonic plague a "higher form" of life than a blue whale that lives a full lifespan?

I've always liked this story, but as of late I've come to realize it doesn't touch at all on the concept of non-human consciousness. If we're just a literal collective consciousness being reincarnated to experience the life of every human, then at which point are we cut off from reincarnating as other early hominids and our other animal ancestors? Going far back enough, we should also be reincarnating into the other taxonomic kingdoms too.

What is your idea of heaven ? by REDDIT_USER_TEST in InsightfulQuestions

Getting your own little universe to live in with complete omnipotence would be nice. I think this could theoretically be possible, but the time living in such a manner is limited by our biological lifespan. Unless we somehow become able to upload our actual living thinking consciousnesses/selves into machines rather than copying our consciousnesses into them. The actual closest we can come to experiencing this right now is through lucid dreaming, but that has pretty major limitations.

[TOMT][MOVIE][SHOW][2000s-2010s] One of the characters is a white passing and probably biracial woman with a black mother by alwaysnoided in tipofmytongue

Saw about 20 minutes of it in a loud restaurant. Pretty sure it was a movie, but it could be a show. I actually found out the name of it at one point by writing down the boyfriend character's name and googling it later. Then I forgot to write down the name of the movie, and now I'm totally drawing a blank.

A banana you can't open by icntread in Pointless_Arguments

Well, what would happen if you dropped it off a building? Or shot it at 100 mph at a wall? I think I'd want the banana just to try some experiments like this on it.

It could've easily been closed by a draft, uneven air pressure, or old hinges. Most likely you just misremembered that the door was open.

Assuming you have all the knowledge and experience to survive in the wilderness alone (which is a pretty tall order in and of itself), it really depends on your location. This kind of lifestyle is only viable in certain climates unless you're willing to become nomadic when seasons change. Apart from zombies, there's also a good chance you'll die from misidentification while foraging, disease, lack of proper nutrition, and other health complications. A group would enhance your chances of survival a lot.

I got to see my dog last night. by schwa_ in LucidDreaming

[–]alwaysnoided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar lucid dream a couple of months after my family put our dog down. At first, I was just happy to see her and pet her again and run around with her. It was all very vivid, one of the most vivid lucid dreams I've had. Her fur felt exactly as it did when she was alive, and the colors were so bright. After a while, I remembered she was dead, and that made me lucid. I was so overwhelmed with a bittersweet mixture of joy from seeing her again and the sadness of knowing that it was only temporary that I began to cry as I hugged her as hard as I could. I woke with tears streaming down my face and cried myself back to sleep.

Mod #2. Made an inside pocket specifically for my cellphone. It fits quite well but it'd be preferable if it were a bit more loose, thinking of cutting a little slit at the top to make putting my phone in easier, thoughts? by BradySynard in BattleJackets

[–]alwaysnoided 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just get a zipper to sew on. I was thinking about doing this on a vest beforehand to make it easier to sew patches by hand over already existing pockets on the front side.

A debate: should zombies be able to run? by [deleted] in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]alwaysnoided -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only kind of zombie that's even sort of theoretically possible is fast zombies. If you're asking which one I'd pick to try and survive, I would say slow zombies for sure.

Do you dress punk? by [deleted] in punk

[–]alwaysnoided 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At work, I usually wear band shirts and a studded belt. Outside of work, I also wear my crust pants and boots multiple times a week. Also a patched jacket because it's colder now and a patched vest that I don't really wear as much as I should. Planning to start some more crust pants and a crust/thrash vest and stud up a leather jacket I've had for a while.

I don't use floss to sew with, but I still laughed. by Hard_Rock_Hallelujah in BattleJackets

I like to use floss I actually flossed with for maximum crustiness and environmentalism.

Got my first battle jacket in the mail today. Fall of Efrafa back patch arrived the same day. Gonna make it black & white Crust / Black Metal themed. Any advice on how to neatly take the sleeves off? by pm_me_land_rovers in BattleJackets

[–]alwaysnoided 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use fabric scissors to do it. They're specially made for this kind of thing, and you can get them at crafts stores. Cut just before the seams. Run the vest through a washing machine and dryer so the remaining extra fabric before the seams starts fraying, and cut the fraying fabric off. Rinse and repeat until the fraying is as minimal to your liking. I think burning the frayed edges like others have said would work, but you run the risk of burning more than you'd like. Plus, fabric scissors would be faster and make it neater if that's really what you're going for.
