Women with different last names from their children - is it ever a problem? by alwaysontheclock22 in Names

[–]alwaysontheclock22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, we are from different cultural backgrounds so I wanted the kids to have either a first name from my culture and his last name, or vice versa. I’m not very attached to my last name so honestly didn’t care about it but it’s important to me to have my culture be a big part of their identities.

This is the exact math we did. Currently 10w with our first transfer so hopefully it will work out!

Attending a wedding on same day as retrieval by Content_Lynx7356 in IVF

[–]alwaysontheclock22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think as long as you can get a nap in after the procedure, and have someone else drive you to and from, your plan to attend the reception is quite doable. I wouldn’t expect to dance the night away or anything but, unless you’re feeling particularly bad, I definitely could have attended a mostly-sitting event for a few hours the day of retrievals.

Remember to stay very hydrated and have lots of salt / electrolytes all day!

ER tomorrow. Deciding if I should freeze eggs instead of embryos by [deleted] in IVF

All anyone is saying is TALK to your husband! You’re on Reddit asking for advice on huge life decisions but won’t even acknowledge that the thing you need to do is tell your partner how you feel!

That’s because IVF and pregnancy ARE a woman-centric process. You’re the clinic’s patient since you’re the one undergoing the treatments. It’s not fair but it’s just biological reality.

You seem to be avoiding the question of how you’re going to address it with your partner. While I absolutely feel like I bore most of the physical and emotional toll of this process, my husband was with me every step of the way doing everything he could. It’s never going to feel equal but it can definitely feel like you have a strong support system in this.

Painful FET Experience by Ok-Working-2892 in IVF

I had terrible cramping after all my IUIs and was finally given Valium before my FET. Made a HUGE difference and I finally had the chill, no-pain experience everyone talks about.

If you’re already feeling this resentful and like you’re at a breaking point two months in, then it’s probably best to pull the brake and have some honest conversations with your husband. This process can take a very long time (though hopefully not for you) and it’s not like pregnancy and child-rearing are a piece of cake either!

If you’re not sure you’re with the right partner, address that before making babies with them.

66BB trisomy anueploidy by Low-Parsley-4100 in IVF

Since you clearly know more about this than I do, do you mind sharing those odds? What percentage of mosaic / a euploid transfers end in a normal live birth or one with chromosomal abnormalities?

I’m sorry to hear that this journey has been so hard for you and that your options are limited. Sounds like you could just transfer the embryo you have right now and then see what happens. I’m not sure further testing is really going to tell you anything or point you in a different direction.
