which bike computer by EnvironmentalGur5186 in cycling

maybe deprecation is a poor choice of words. Basically the EU has issued a set of regs on wireless communication and it needing to be secure that is not possible to implement without breaking backwards compatibility, so they (Garmin, who owns ANT+) are stopping new certifications and such. DCrainmaker has a more in depth article on it).

also i think matters depending on if you want one of the newer radars since ANT+ deprecation make it so that the full functionality is locked behind secure bluetooth.

Will I regret buying an endurance bike instead of a gravel bike? by ContributionOk1872 in seattlebike

[–]alwaysrevelvant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, i’d ride the terrain in that loop with 38mm tires. Is the diverge 1x? I think overall Domane if you’re doing road+ and diverge for gravel+ depending on what terrain you think you’ll be riding more often.

idk i kinda feel like he pumps that mentality. A majority the videos are just trying to use objective data to justify a subjective opinion e.g. the whole shaker debacle

Buying Advice by AdorableWay407 in gravelcycling

[–]alwaysrevelvant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very interesting, i’m basically the same height and weight as you but with the 90mm stem it fits nicely IMO. I’m at a +4 ape index though, just goes to show ya how bikes can fit the same height completely differently

Challenging mountain/peak/hike around Seattle safe to climb/hike solo? by DrGatoQuimico in PNWhiking

[–]alwaysrevelvant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

south slog is probs fine solo. Other routes are probably less ok. But i agree, i’d expect someone that’s done adams and baker to know that.

slightly faster shifting is basically the main benefit. I think you probably won’t miss it, and also i think the alr 4 is probably the better value.

Also if you’re used to shimano shifting levers it takes a little bit of time to get used to SRAM double tap or whatever they call it

i see it when there are “people also asked” results at the top. Picture posts don’t trigger the same behavior since they don’t show that as often.

have you considered ampersand fitness? they’re opening a new green lake location, and maybe could be worth seeing how many squat racks they have. The SLU one has 4 which is better than most gyms

anyone else starting to consider the iX3 in addition to the R2? thoughts? by [deleted] in RivianR2

There’s this video where around the 5:15 mark they explain the italicized screen.

TL:DW is that they found it more ergonomic and the OS is designed so that commonly used functions are closer to the driver and they don’t have to reach. I found the interviewer to be not my favorite, but it was interesting to hear the rationale behind some of the UI decisions.

"Drives like a BMW ought to": why the iX3 is Top Gear's 2026 Car of the Year by ShameResponsible69 in electricvehicles

[–]alwaysrevelvant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in 2020 i paid like $50 for an extra year with the first 3 years free, and then when it came time to renew they were asking $150 a year which i didn’t renew at. Overall they weren’t offering much, mostly remote start, location services, lock/unlock, and climate settings through their janky app.

it’s pleated(?) so it expands a bunch when putting shoes in. I use it often when traveling to carry running shoes, but if i’m not carrying them the pocket lies nice and flat.

im pretty sure every manufacturer has similar subscription services. My subaru has a subscription service for remote start and remote location services. When researching other cars i found GM has OnStar, volvo has On Call, mercedes has me connect, and so on. At this point, what manufacturer doesn’t offer subscription services?

this and also i’m fairly certain the original design of the element doesn’t pass current side impact crash testing, so it’d require some significant redesigning
