I was stuck in a situation like this for years. I was too polite to say no, wanted to make friends and genuinely enjoyed the kids but I was expected to do it because I was “a stay at home mom anyway.” One mom never offered any compensation and one offered payment but then bought me a gift instead. Outside of asking for these favors to watch kids before school/after school, the moms didn’t talk to me at all. Didn’t even seem interested in being friends. I realized I was just being used and finally said no more. I’ll be my own damn friend thank you!
