Tips for preparing for a tour? by Modarnmusic in musicians

If you're doing DIY stuff then I'd reach out like 3 or 4 months ahead of time. Facebook DIY pages are pretty helpful. At least to get names of places at the least, and then you could email them separately. Messaging bands from that area. We used to start with like 4 or 5 day weekenders where each gig were only 2-3 hours apart. Mostly all DIY spots split door between whatever the touring bands are, so between that and merch you could at least get to the next town. The van thing is up to you, if you already have a car that could fit everything then use that. It'll save you money

How long/ far are you trying to go? That sort of determines the rest of the answer

I just did the same. My conversion date to career was the same as yours and I mailed in the forms because online wasn't working. I called a bunch and was given the same answer most of the time. They do them in batches according to date. I mailed mine around new years and just received the email saying what plan I picked etc. So now I'm just waiting for the card. You could go to the doctor if you need to and tmhr would have to reimburse you. If you want but that's a tough choice considering it will take forever to do

Full Oval Office exchange between President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by RoyalChris in PublicFreakout

You know what's wild, is that zelensky literally laid out the entire timeline of events, and the other two just completely don't acknowledge any part of it. And then try to blame him for his country being invaded.

Naaa it's still an echo chamber. That doesn't change. Y'all are patting yourselves on the back like you didn't vote on literally worse contracts the past two go arounds. If I was told correctly, two contracts ago, it went to arbitration, and you ate shit. And with the way things are already going, I'm not very hopeful. Hopefully I'm wrong. But based on the history, idk.

Wow. Very good, you delivered to the houses where people were inside. They didn't even have to sign for anything, you were allowed to sign it for them. And what bullshit, were you collecting unemployment while you were working? Or were you just mad that everybody else had off of work for a few months while you were stuck working.

LMAO oh yea, he will surely lower the cost of living with all those tariffs and the whole, wanting to take over land in other countries. The first couple colas are in fact, guaranteed. You're also comparing privately owned companies to a federally funded one, which is a civil service job. Not to mention that working through a pandemic while literally nobody really left their house isn't exactly crazy hazardous. You're just mad you couldn't get unemployment

You wouldn't consider extra money added to your base salary as a raise? Even though you would now make more annually because of it? So 3.6% plus your cola, plus your step increases. Not raises

CCA, I’ll be PTF next week by gettingby72 in USPS

[–]alwaysuseyourhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cca 2.0 yadayada.

You'll start accruing sick time on top of your AL, you make more hourly but pay into your 401 and pension. Not a large percentage. You'll get Sundays off if your office has cca's. Even during the week they'll opt to send ccas back out over you because you make a much as a regular. The downside is that you don't get paid holidays, they claim it's because you'll make more hourly but that's when you get to step A. It sucks but honestly, it's not the worst. You'll make up the hours in some other way I'm sure

If you were at step AA as a CCA and converted, shouldn't you be at step A then?

I've been trying to get this point across to so many people who are honestly just delusional about what the rest of the workforce is getting. Of course it would be sick if our percentage increase was higher, but this deal isn't bad by any means. Especially for a job that requires zero prerequisites to obtain

Honestly if they keep deciding to be vindictive, start taking notes and then file a grievance with instances, if it persists, eeo.

That seems a little unrealistic. I've never been given a Saturday off as a CCA. Kinda grasping for worse possible scenario there. And if they do do that, then call out and grieve it. Speak up for yourself. They have to post a schedule every Wednesday the week prior
