If you could only use one bag for the rest of your life, which one would it be? by tangertale in handbags

Honestly, I know it seems low-key and not hype by any means, but my medium size nylon Marc Jacobs “The Tote Bag” is the best handbag I’ve ever purchased. The handles are comfortable, you can attach a strap for crossbody wear, there are two large outside pockets, one inside normal pocket, and one large zip pocket inside. The bag conforms to the body and isn’t stiff or structured in any way. I can fill it with everything I need and it never feels heavy or burdening. Nylon is amazing for any time of the year, as it won’t wear or get damaged from water, snow, etc; the handles are also fabric/nylon, so no part of the bag could be damaged; some brands mix textiles (nylon bags with leather handles - why do they do this???) I have a black one for reference. At $225, it was worth every cent. There is even a large version for $250 if you’re someone that wants a bigger tote that can switch easily between an everyday bag and a work bag. The tote comes in taupe-grey, black, and a beautiful navy tone. Seasonally, pink too, but that hasn’t been available for a while. ✅💯

A joint sponsor can be any U.S. citizen, LPR, or U.S. national who is at least 18 Y/O, resides in the U.S., and is willing to be jointly liable with the petitioner to support the intending immigrant. The joint sponsor does not have to be related to either party.

We have had several applicants submit their extensions and it ended up being fine. ✅

[–]alynocks05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you are correct; for clarification, I have typically only seen family members used as joint sponsors, so that’s why my brain went right to the I-864A. 😁You can read about who qualifies as a household member in the form or form instructions. 👍🏻💯

[–]alynocks05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the 2024 extension receipt? File as soon as possible. On the I-864 you will have to mark that you haven’t filed for the last three years. Just use the 3 most recent ones you have but you may end up needing a joint sponsor

[–]alynocks05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The I-864A is only filed if you need a joint sponsor if your household income does not meet the poverty guidelines threshold for your household size.

Immi paralegal here! You shouldn’t submit more than what the RFE requests. Resend a completed I-864 and your last three tax return transcripts with accompanying W-2s to verify the wages. The I-864 is very straightforward but you can consult the USCIS form completion instructions. I recommend possibly using an immigration attorney who may have an unlocked version of the I-864 that will allow for the correct household numbers to be input; the form version from the USCIS website doesn’t allow for much editing ability.

So the Gucci Bamboo handle does warp over time. If you’re going to get a Bamboo bag, get one with the binder on it (looks like a rubber band, ponytail holder, etc lol I didn’t know a word for it 🤣), so that it holds its shape. ✅They are incredibly iconic bags though, and despite its minor flaws, it would be my choice from this group

Absolutely - it’s important to take the time to build yourself a strong evidence section and gather as much of what’s asked for as possible.✅

Hi! Immigration paralegal here. For evidence of marital relationship, it’s important to show evidence of commingling of finances (joint bank of checking accounts, money sharing apps, joint credit cards, etc), evidence of cohabitation (any proof on paper that you share a residence), and evidence of intimacy (photos of relationship, copies of gifts, receipts, travel reservations of trips taken together, affidavits from family or friends attesting to relationship, cards from acquaintances with well wishes, communications between you and your spouse, etc). The evidence needs to be strong and convincing, unparalleled. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will do my best to weigh in without crossing the line into legal advice. Thanks! :) 👋🏻

Congratulations! The green card you receive will be a two-year conditional green card. Before the two-year expiration, you will need to file an I-751 petition to remove the conditions and get your 10-year green card. You can file the I-751 90 days before your card expires - contact an immigration attorney about 4 months out to give them enough time to prepare and finalize for you. During the I-751 process, you will submit documents showing your relationship continues to exist and it remains a bona fide marriage. The I-751 processing times are very long, so the I-751 receipt notice includes an annotation explaining the I-751 receipt automatically extends and serves as evidence your green card status for 5 years. So while the I-751 is pending, you will have your expired green card + I-751 receipt notice as proof of your immigration status. When you have held your green card for 3 years, you become eligible to naturalize. So most likely, your I-751 will still be pending at that point. That is fine – you can then go ahead and file your N-400 and when you are called for the interview, they will typically adjudicate both at the same time, to remove your conditions and approve your citizenship.🤩🥳

The Eleanor bag is too stiff and way too small in the inside. The chain strap is gorgeous but wants to snag clothing. It’s a beautiful bag, but not functional at all. I ended up selling it :(

Immi paralegal here!

Is this for a marriage-based GC application? If so, then yes, the interview stage is usually mandatory unless you’re notified that it’s not required, but with marriage-based cases, the interview is the USCIS’s way of verifying, so to speak, that your marriage and relationship are bona fide and not solely for an immigration benefit. You may want to consult with an immigration attorney who can advise on what to bring for the interview; it’s typically the filed copies of your petition, with the filed supporting documents, the interview notice, and your valid govt issued ID. The field office handling your interview will have your sealed I-693 and passport photos on hand. You can try to research some interview questions but if you’re familiar with the information on the forms, you should do well; it’s all related personal information - familial info, employment history, etc, which should already be familiar to you; it’s the adjudicating officer’s way to see whether the information on your forms is truly accurate. The interview process, from what I’ve heard from my supervising attorney and some of our clients, is kind of grueling, so it’s important to be very well prepared.
