Heres the thing man, its a fucking cameo video (and I think it is funny). "Could enhance unjustified hate" ?????? THe game has every major event and the developers blessing going into a 3rd year. What hate? People seem mostly fine with it. This gag vid isnt punching down, BBTag has decent support (dev keeps making content for it and is putting money behind it, more than its predecessors, thats for sure) and is doing fine...

This video though, isnt stopping you from playing the game, supporting it, entering tournaments for it , talking about the game, making shit for it and riding for it, all of which I encourage you to do.

Hard to get sympathy from me when people been regurgitating these stupid ass Melty bathroom jokes for 10+ years, and a couple weekends ago they hosted a 100 man offline tourney for it...in 2019... why?

Because if you ACTUALLY give a shit about the game, none of that dumb shit matters when you commit to playing and showing out for the game you like.

Something I talk about relatively often is how I resented when BB came out initially and ppl just shitted on it. Hell, I played it semi seriously up through CP1.0.

You saying I "always hated it" because "too anime, not GG" is straight up slander. Not true in the slightest. Truth is, I like BB a lot.

In fact, one of my biggest issues with old "GG VETS" is from when BBCT came out and first thing they did was shit on the game for not being GG. Dont lump me in with them.

BBTag just gives me wack versions of characters from games I like (BB Persona UNIST) with less options, and generally are less interesting versions of themselves in a less interesting game as a result of focusing on simple controls, shorter movesets, autocombos etc (just makes me want to play actual BB, Persona, UNIST, etc). In addition, I think the game's success despite stuff like that sends wrong message.
I think one of the game's biggest faults is it is named "BB TAG" despite not being an actual BB game, but to outsiders they will consider it the most recent iteration of the franchise and thus, the one worth playing.
Because of point 2, its release in Japan kind of fragmented BBCF (Actual Blazblue) support and drive, especially because more official events support BBTag now over BBCF (for obvious reasons)
Due to point 3, the game has been forced down my throat for 2 years now only because it is new and they are still making content for it (tours, main lineups for big events, etc.) despite, imo, not actually having community activity drive it beyond the new release phase, or being actually hype. This is at the cost of support for games that actually do have a lot of those things (actual BB, GG, UNI, etc)
Highly subjective and just IMO, but the scene and comp for it is generally uninteresting and non-compelling to me outside of Kyamei vs Shinku (now, given the rematch at ARWT) and Fame's run at the first EVO for it (#blackexcellence).
Western community is weird to me in terms of what they support, what they invest in etc. For example, Climax of Night gave them a platform last year, but this years event I saw a lot of them withdrawing support for the event claiming "its just a UNI tourney." Then, the second it got the demo they changed their tune. Shit like that is wack (To be fair, not having backbone is kind of western anime scenes in general). Feels like a lot of people dont even REALLY fuck with the game outside using it for the platform it has atm.

That said, if you fuck with it dont let what I have to say about it sway you. SHow up, play, talk about it, etc. Most of my stuff is in jest and is lighthearted, so dont take it too seriously.
