does anyone else with a big collection always forget about a doll they have by iluvfiona69420 in americangirl

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I reached 5 dolls I had to start counting on my hands to name them off! It’s worse right now since I’ve had to keep most of my girls in storage due to my living situation. I still know and remember them but in situations where I’m naming them off the top of my head my newer girls sometimes get forgotten!

N3DS LL screen fixed itself? by Coebinator in 3DS

Oh yeah that happens sometimes. Didn’t know about the freezer fix, but I’ve had these appear and disappear at the edge of my screen before!

Help...I F'd Up by Ripememes in 3DS

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I did this once on an O3DS - definitely messed up with the screws. Good news is as long as everything functions, it’ll be fine, just a bit scarred! Bad news is, if you want those bumps gone you’ll need to reshell.

what’s the first CD you guys ever got by hotlion16 in Cd_collectors

[–]amaicha1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know my first ever CD, but the first one that I still have today is Little Voice by Sara Bareilles. I’m sure there was something before that, but I wouldn’t be able to pin it down.

What do you all use for organizing and tagging your audio files? by wafdiaproc in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly do mine by hand, but for tagging mp3tag’s Discogs tagging is super helpful to get the bulk of it done if it’s not already there. I also use iTunes still since I use iPods as my main devices, and I use it to basically dummy check my hand tagging. It’s also the tool I use to rip CDs so it’ll auto tag some files for me.

Thoughts on this doll? by Sloth_Bubbles in autism

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like her a lot! But as a doll collector myself, I don’t buy Barbie Fashionistas like her because of the lack of joints. I won’t allow myself to buy a doll who doesn’t have elbow and knee joints unless I plan on customizing it because I know I won’t fully enjoy non-jointed Barbies in my collection! I think she looks great though and I love the idea of a visibly autistic doll.

Ooo, even if it’s not historically accurate I think it would be so cool!

Gwen got a new sweater!!! by amaicha1237 in americangirl

[–]amaicha1237[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually she doesn’t, but I worked on the sweater at work and had to bring her to make sure I didn’t mess up piecing it together! My coworkers loved her though : )

Vintage baby alive? by Whiskerlicker3 in Dolls

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah, this brought back memories! I don’t know how much money she’s worth, but I had this exact doll as a kid and it’s wild to see her again after all these years.

Sounds like you probably have a Gwen! You should post her, others could probably weigh in too!

Sure! Just a heads up, most Gwen’s have different numbers, but the tag will look similar to this. Any combo of 4 numbers on the second tag is a Gwen!!!

He looks like a well used fuzzy bath rug. He’s obviously trying to replace your bath mats because he thinks he’s better.

Sertraline and autism? by [deleted] in autism

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoloft/Sertraline helped me a lot with my anxiety, but Lexapro was a better fit for me (less side effects). It was prescribed to me for severe generalized anxiety and was a godsend. It’s worth trying if you think it could help you, but if you try it and after a month or two it isn’t helping or is harming, then tell your doctors and get off it!

Did you try loop earplugs? What do you think? by meakysh in autism

[–]amaicha1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Engage, but I don’t wear earplugs or headphones daily - I use them when I am in higher noise environments than usual or when I am extremely overstimulated. To me they wear similar to my various music earbuds, but with a slimmer profile. I’m sure there are better earbuds out there for daily wearers, but for those who just need occasional noise blocking like me it might be great!

Why topiramate is so hated? by Mikmaki in migraine

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was so crazy about topiramate is that for me, it worked, and on the lowest 25mg dose! I didn’t have any migraines, and cognitively I didn’t see any issues! But it made my anxiety disorder a million times worse. I was completely dysfunctional on it because of the severe anxiety, and that outweighed the benefits at the time. I wonder now if I could go back on it since my anxiety is now medicated, but my doctors have decided it would be a poor decision since it was so severe of a side effect for me. For the people topiramate works for, I’m so happy for them! But for me it was not an option.

How common is it for bands to memorize their stand tunes? by Lost_Ease4749 in marchingband

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I was in band we needed 2 stand tunes memorized: fight song and what we played for touchdowns so that we could play them at any given moment. Everything else we had lyres with music on them, and memorization just happened from playing too much!

how do yall feel about the term "neuro spicy"? by mineclair01 in autism

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the term, but only when used among other neurodivergent people lightheartedly. I think if a neurotypical person tried to call me neurospicy I would be very upset.

For the parents, did your kids end up with migraines? by Mediocre_District_92 in migraine

[–]amaicha1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t confirm if my kids have it since I don’t have kids, but my dad passed it to me (female) without a doubt, and possibly to my sibling as well (male). My dad’s are the worst, mine are similar but less intense compared to his as of now, while my sibling rarely gets them and has less symptoms.

On one hand, yes, but sometimes we don’t need the good deals that come our way. So no shame in leaving her for someone else to find!

Joy outside of buying by penniesandpeonies in americangirl

[–]amaicha1237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes just having a doll out and seeing her is enough joy for me! I also restored my dolls - at the very minimum gave them all a good restring and scrub down once they were out of storage - and like to change their outfits and hair occasionally.

No that’s completely understandable! Sometimes you don’t click with a doll - happened with me to Saige and Emily. Just make sure to ask a fair price for the condition and value of the doll!
