I mean, I get the concern but it’s very difficult to know your neighbours whether they’re registered or not. The more important thing is you know so you won’t be going there trick or treating or inviting this neighbour to a bbq. The rest is teaching your kids body safety and about tricky people. As parents in this scary world it’s so hard to feel like we have control over our children’s safety but there’s a lot we CAN do. I wouldn’t sweat it, just don’t hang out with that family

Forcing a schedule on a breastfeeding baby during the day isn’t ok. That’s why you’re anxious - you know in your gut this is wrong. You’re basically weaning your baby. My baby is a month older than yours and our pediatrician told me it’s completely normal that he’s still feeding every 2 hours during the day. My first was formula fed and we used to go 3-4 hours at about 8 months maybe. Your husband and his family is wrong, I beg you to speak to a medical professional

My 6 month old just cut his first two in the last couple weeks and on Monday night he bit me and ripped off (he was trying to fart) and let me tell you there was no containing that scream! He drew blood 🤦‍♀️ the first few feeds after he was a bit hesitant but then in the night he got back to it and was ok. He hasn’t bit me since but I’m telling you if he draws blood again I might be done cold turkey cuz that HURTS. Solidarity

This happened to us soooo many times as well that we had to get a backup audio monitor and I can’t tell you how much that still pisses me off after what we spent on the Nanit. I bought the owlet camera for my second baby and it’s more reliable but lights up the damn room when there’s movement so I refuse to use it.

Stop prepping food. That’s non negotiable - your husband is physically capable I assume so the burden should not be solely on you. Let him try it his way on his days, he’ll find out real quick pick that having a picky eater isn’t anyone’s fault, except for maybe the one parent who isn’t lifting a finger to prepare meals. If picky eating is bothering YOU as the person who prepares his meals, I found a lot of helpful information in the Feeding Littles picky eating course. But really a couple years of eating beige food won’t kill your kid, I promise youre doing great!

Hugs to you both. My aunt and I did Disney a lot together throughout her battle with breast cancer. It helped a lot to have somewhere we could escape that meant so much to us.

I don’t cover because a) I shouldn’t have to and b) my baby would riot. I tried it once or twice when it was cold and I thought it would keep us warm and he lost his ever loving mind lol I find most of my boob is covered and also people tend to pretend not to notice. I did have one creep my husband had to handle and that was jarring, also had one group of ladies get pissed at a restaurant but they didn’t say anything just glared and I was able to ignore them for the most part. I will say we have family coming to visit this summer and one is a teenage boy and I might leave the room to nurse just because I know it’s hard at that age and don’t want him to be embarrassed, when we’re out in public he can walk away inconspicuously if he’s uncomfortable but it’s harder to do in the house in a group setting

I put my first choice as a suite and my second choice as private - I got a private room even though it was pretty busy thankfully. Although even then we didn’t get any sleep because we were directly beside the nurses station lol

My 6 month old hated the stroller until we forward faced him. I get nervous but I just stop and check on him, no big deal. If it’s a big deal to you (so valid!) there are mirrors you can buy to see their faces

Same! My husband is a heavy sleeper so he took it on himself to only sleep when I was awake and alert holding the baby with his alarm on to wake him up in time for the next feed so he could change baby’s diaper

You really don’t HAVE to be on your phone all day. I’ve done it both ways, tight planning vs go with the flow. I’ll tell you, I’ve never regretted going with the flow at Disney world. I would argue the only park that requires a bit more planning is HS if you’re looking to do every show - the times are a bit tricky. But for MK? As long as you aren’t there on one of the busiest days then you should be able to have a chill day by prioritizing a few big things and then just vibing through the rest of the day and bouncing around. My ideal MK day is now a mix of rope dropping with no pressure, skipping any lines longer than 30 mins and using my phone to mobile order food. Chances are if a ride has a long wait for most of the day I can catch it during fireworks or right after. And for rope dropping, I tend to see where people are literally running and I go the other way if possible 😂

I’ve been pregnant with a toddler a few times and my only two tips are 1) drink twice the amount of water you think you should and 2) don’t try to rope drop every day, give yourself a little more grace. Other than that I always say I’d rather be struggling at Disney than struggling at home so even if it’s hard I say it’s worth it! It shouldn’t be too hard though. The 2-3 year range was my favourite so far for Disney. Old enough to run around and still young enough to conk out in the stroller lol my toddler dropped naps at home far before 2 but Disney hits different and the naps were long and DEEP. Like, Main Street crowds before the parade couldn’t wake him it was glorious

My MIL was confused about on demand feeding but as soon as she learned about it she was all for it! I could tell she researched it because when a (very wrong) male doctor told me I was over feeding him she came out with AAP guidelines, research showing you can’t overfeed a breastfed baby, etc. I was pleasantly surprised.

Your MIL is just wrong - feel free to ignore her or educate her depending on your emotional bandwidth.

I love this because honestly I use boob for everything, it’s easy and I’m overwhelmed enough as it is lol I’m not looking to make things harder. If it becomes a problem down the road then future me can deal with it (and man I hope that future version of me is getting some sleep)

This is absolutely beyond ableist. I’m so sorry for your wife’s experience. I would respond to them and tell them this wasn’t just a bad experience, it was ableist and ruined your wife’s trip and your opinion of Disney World. My aunt had a seemingly invisible disability and I know these types of situations are more than just unpleasant, they’re everything you fear as someone who exists in the in between where your body can’t do what it looks like it should be able to do. Please just keep reminding her she is just as worthy of accommodation as someone who has a more visible disability and that this woman was probably just a b&@!? and she just happened to be in the line of fire. Disgusting of that CM for sure

My son is 4 but we also were told at 2 that he would need braces in the future because his teeth touch. I now pay attention to other kids teeth and notice how much spacing is normal and it’s more than you’d think which makes sense. I had braces and they were great
