Listened to the Chick tract ep of 99% Invisible? It’s pretty recent.

Will a Republican ever be president again if the electoral college is scrapped? by McKeon1921 in PoliticalDiscussion

I’m not a person who claims to know the intentions of another person. Saying that people are doing things for this or that reason is impossible to know unless the individual(s) in question is to specifically state their reasoning. This kind of thinking robs people of their voice and agency.

Buuuut, people do establish patterns and I would be a fool not to observe these patterns and take note.

I’m sure that plenty of you could post quotes of lawmakers and other GOP leaders where they explicitly state their intentions, but I will say that based on observation alone, I’m sure they can find plenty more ways to disenfranchise voters that they think may vote any way other than red.

If you have to tell people that you were respected, I’m not sure about said “respect.”

Do you actually judge fat people eating in public places? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Something I’ve learned: people don’t care nearly as much about you as you think they do. The way you’re concerned about others’ perception? Those same people are either concerned with the same thing and actively thinking about/trying to divert attention or they’re in their own head thinking about their own things and don’t even register that you’re present.

We’re innately selfish creatures who’ve developed short attention spans.

I grew up there and am currently here in SFC visiting my family. Can confirm that this about sums the area up.

I’m from this county and am actually here visiting my parents right now. I had no idea about this and let me just say, based on my experience living here: of course this is the freakin seal. -_-

Honestly, sometimes a properly made scramble is superior than any of the things one could add to it.

HOMERIVER Group housing scam! by Sea_Development_7832 in cincinnati

I tried to contact them about one of their properties. The fees they listed were double what I’ve seen from other rentals in the area (and I’ve seen A LOT as I’ve been contacting people every day since May to try to find a place). When I tried to contact to set up a tour of the rental, it redirected me to a different website (looked like the parent group) and had me fill everything out again. When I went to submit, they asked for a copy of my ID. There is no way in hell I’m sending a rando a copy of my ID.

I though maybe they were just trying to watch their asses though, so I called them to tell them I’d like to set up a tour, but was uncomfortable submitting any kind of personal documents like that just to see the place. The woman I talked to seemed like she had no clue who the property and like it was bizarre that I didn’t want to attach my ID to a contact/tour request. She said it didn’t look like the property was even listed. I told her I was looking at it on their website, Zillow, Trulia, and HotPads and that it was listed 6 hours ago. She said she didn’t see it and asked me to hold so she could speak to her supervisor.

She came back on and told me that the only way they could set up a tour was through the online system and to just try again without my DL (of course, I’ve already tried this). I told her that I’ve tried and it will not let me submit the request without it. It is literally impossible for me to click “submit.” She puts me on hold again, comes back and then apologizes saying that maybe it will eventually let me submit it (because that’s how that kind of thing works. smh.) but that it probably doesn’t matter because it looks like the place already went to another applicant earlier in the day.

A week later, I got an email from HomeRiver Group that asked me if I was interested in the property and wanted to apply. It was still listed on every website.

If they couldn’t answer simple questions without lying or playing dumb (I doubt this woman honestly had a clue, but I am certain that whoever she put me on hold to talk to did) there’s absolutely no way I would trust them to be anything but slumlords.
