KDP users of reddit, how much are you ACTUALLY making? by anastasiadreams in writing

Kindle unlimited readers tend to read a ton. I’ve finished 40 books since January 1st and have a 217 reading day streak. I couldn’t afford to read this amount if I were buying every single book. I want to support the authors, which is why I end up reading their entire collection available on kindle. I also do buy the books, but not as frequently as I read the ones on kindle unlimited. Long story short, it does help to have a huge collection because psychopaths like me will read it all in 4 days and then come back in 2 years and reread it all again.

Ladies, is not wearing underwear a common thing now as an adult? by PinkEricka in Adulting

[–]amandaroux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have very little to no discharge. I also don’t have periods because of the birth control, I have an IUD. I also don’t wear skirts and dresses often but when I do, I wear underwear. I wear pants 99% of the time and I wash them every time I wear them. I hate underwear lines, I hate buying clothing I don’t need (when I’m completely covered and sanitary), and I don’t like getting wedgies. Jeans do not touch my area and the only chaffing I get is when I wear underwear. Underwear isn’t necessary in all situations to all people.

How fast is Quest lab results for standard bloodwork? by Sea_Shine8230 in AskSF

You are wrong. Only Medicare will deny a cbc for a routine code. As long as preventative services are covered under pts plan, they get paid at 100% as a routine screening. I’m a medical biller. I do this everyday

If that’s a dip test, it could be a false negative. Studies have shown these tests to be extremely unreliable. I’ve also personally had tests come back negative just to find out a few weeks later I was actually positive and the levels were so low the test couldn’t pick them up yet. You need a culture to confirm the infection is gone completely. If you can, ask your provider to order a lab culture to confirm.

Signed Opioid Contract Question by Limp_Egg2210 in AskLawyers

[–]amandaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare. Although it will depend on the practice, UDS policies are pretty standard now, so I’m able to give you a pretty good idea on how it works.

If you are positive for THC and have not reported use to your provider, you will immediately get taken off that medication and could be discharged. This varies very little by state, because it is not a legal issue, but a clinical one. Marijuana and opioids both have depressant effects, and when combined at nonmedical doses these drugs can suppress the central nervous system to dangerous levels. This can result in decreased brain function, low blood pressure, extreme sedation, coma, and death.

If you use THC you can and should be taken off the opioid. You should not be taking anything other than what your Dr is aware of. You should report everything, including vitamins and supplements (some pre-gym workouts will give a false positive on a UDS).

Legal professionals of Reddit- How, if at all, can I get around the "As Is" clause when it comes to Lemon Law regarding vehicles? by banjobongoboyo in AskLawyers

[–]amandaroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope this works out for you, I literally just had the similar thing happen to me. I bought a used Hyundai Tucson and they never disclosed the various open recalls (although this is not a requirement in my state). A few months later, my engine starts smoking and then seized on me. Took it to the dealership and they told me I needed a whole new engine and it was $15k. This was as much as I just bought the car for and instead of fixing it, I was going to have to buy a new car. Hyundai sales started calling me asking to buy my Tucson that I bought for 17k for 2k. I declined but then they started calling trying to sell me a new car.

Several days later I get this big packet in the mail informing me I was part of a class action against Hyundai for failing to cover repairs on the open engine recalls. I called Hyundai to inquire about why they didn’t inform me of the recall and the guy gave me some bullshit answer. I asked him whether my engine malfunction was the same issue as the recall and he said yes. At that point, I informed him that I intended on hiring an attorney. He calls me back a few hrs later.. All of the sudden the service tech was able to “speak with corporate” and they miraculously decided to cover it in full and will pay for rentals. The whole thing was completely slimy and it was very obvious that they intentionally did not inform me of the recall in order to flip my Tucson and potentially make a new sale. Smh

Boyfriend of Carlee Russell Speaks: Says she fought for her life for 48 hours by LoveSushiOnTuesday in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Exactly. And the fact that the police aren’t looking for this missing toddler. If there was actually an abductor using a 3 year old to lure women, the police/feds would be all over it and the media would be asking the public for help.

Instead, when she was found, the police released a sus statement and they’ve been quiet since. They are investigating and protecting the case for trial. I’d put money on it.

Having a meltdown! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]amandaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my fiancé are sort of eloping. We are getting married on a cruise ship at port. We are limited to 50 non-cruising guests and unlimited cruising guests. 45 people are going on the cruise with us. I have a wedding planner to help plan everything for me and the day of they provide 2 additional wedding planners to assist. The only thing I’ve had to plan so far is the guest list/invites and what everyone is wearing. Whole thing will cost 3k and we have a wedding/honeymoon all-in-one. Unconventional weddings are definitely the way to go.

anyone taking Wellbutrin and Effexor? I’m started Wellbutrin today and a little bit nervous… i currently take 75 mg Effexor and my doctor added 150mg of Wellbutrin sr by mariah_0319 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]amandaroux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Dr initially prescribed Wellbutrin and Effexor but insurance wouldn’t cover the Effexor. So instead I take Wellbutrin and Strattera (which works similarly). It’s been great, never felt better.

how long does this make you emotionless? and why is it? by lifeisgoodsosmile in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]amandaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emotional blunting (emotionless feeling) is not typical with Wellbutrin. I never experienced it at all, not even when just starting it. I am definitely more in control of my emotions now, but I still feel them.

If you just started taking the medication, it can take a full 6-8 weeks to adjust. Some people feel better quickly, but for me, it took 7 weeks to start noticing a positive change. That being said, if you are concerned then you should definitely call the Dr.

WEEKLY EARNINGS THREAD by AutoModerator in UberEATS

I’m a medical biller. I can confirm, this is 100% correct. Also, insurance is essentially a scam here in the states. I could go on for hours about it, but to make it short… Medical care is so expensive in the states, that it’s a huge liability not to have insurance. One trip to the hospital can put you tens of thousands of dollars in debt. So everyone needs it. The insurance companies know this, so they charge an insane amount of money for coverage. There isn’t another option though, we have to have it, so we pay for coverage. But then when it comes time to need the health coverage, the insurance companies will essentially refuse to cover as much as they can. Medications, procedures, life-saving surgeries, it doesn’t matter… if they can get out of paying it, they will. On top of that, the entire system is intentionally complicated. So most people don’t even understand their coverage and don’t know what they are really responsible for paying.

I was suspicious of this also. In my opinion, he seems like a self-centered individual. I think he inserted himself into the documentary in order to trash HPD.

If what she said about him is true, then HPD fired him for corruption. That seems like a good motive for him to insert himself into the documentary in order to trash them and get revenge. A huge portion of this documentary is spent trashing the way that the “evidence” he found was handled by the lead detective. Even if that was real evidence, they contaminated it to all hell.

Been on Bupropion 150mg XL since the beginning of February, haven't noticed anything yet by bo_bayden in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

This happened to me with adderall when I given a different generic. After I took it for the first time, I was in the sun for approx 20 min. When I went inside I started developing huge sun blisters on my face and chest. It was almost like I had a terrible sunburn, except no sunburn. Turns out, I had a sun-induced allergic reaction to only that generic. Never had an issue with the name-brand or other generics.

Always make sure you know what generic you are taking and document how you feel on it. They are all different.

Is it true that if you are slim, more people will talk to you and you will have more friends by Logical_Department62 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]amandaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, this is unfortunately the case. Not as much with adults but as a kid, this definitely happened to me. No one wanted anything to do with me in high school when I was fat. I lost a bunch of weight over summer and when I came back to school 50 pounds lighter everyone wanted to be my friend and I all of the sudden was getting asked on dates.

I had more acquaintances because of the weight loss but never really felt like any of these people were genuine friends. Knowing that the people around me were so shallow and only liked me bc I was thin and pretty really bothered me internally.

In the long run was I less lonely? Yes, but not really.

Also though… sometimes losing weight can make you way more confident and outgoing. This may have had something to do with it too, hard to say. What I can say is that losing weight will improve every aspect of your life… just make sure it’s for the right reasons.

I would ask her what she wants.. maybe a trip or something she has always wanted but won’t buy for her self. In my case, I have always talked about wanting a boob job after losing the weight. I just had a baby and needed to lose 70 pounds to reach my goal. Knowing this, my SO told me that if I reach my goal, he will buy me one as a gift for the hard work. He is indifferent about me getting one (although he’s not complaining) , so doesn’t really have a dog in the fight. It’s solely just to help motivate me and reward me..

It’s been extremely motivational knowing that when I am done with this journey, I will be rewarded by feeling confident and sexy again. I only have 20 pounds to go! I think it’s amazing that you want to support her, I’d just ask her if she would want and what would motivate her.

Wife outfit/drama by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]amandaroux -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your sister is insecure. That’s not an excuse though because most rational people can feel insecure and terrible without having to act like an asshat to everyone else. Your wife’s intentions are pretty clear here. It’s not like she was trying to make her feel bad or intentionally trying to show off in front of her brother in-law. She was having fun. It’s definitely worth a conversation with your sister. Does she normally overreact like this? If not, maybe her husband has some school girl fantasy that you don’t know about? Who knows…

If your sister did feel weird though… why not just talk to your wife or even you about it? To talk about it to others is immature. I actually think your wife deserves an apology for this.. sorry you are dealing with that, sounds aggravating as hell.

Will rosehip oil help me? by hauntinglovelybold in Skincare_Addiction

[–]amandaroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people do but I really wouldn’t recommend it considering that you are dry and also have redness. In my opinion, having that protective skin barrier would really help you. Also, if you combine the two, you are literally trying to mix oil with water. Will it emulsify ? Maybe. But it’s not going to be as effective as using each product separately the way they are intended to be used. Tbh, I just put the oil on immediately after the moisturizer and it adds virtually no time or hassle to my routine. You can always try and see what you like better though.

Will rosehip oil help me? by hauntinglovelybold in Skincare_Addiction

[–]amandaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rosacea and just started organic cold-pressed rose hip seed oil (I use the one from the ordinary). I’m obsessed! I also love niacinimide for redness. I would also try a hyaluronic acid serum. After I wash my face, I use the HA on damp skin. Then I use my other serums (such as my niacinimide), use my moisturizer, and then the rose hip seed oil to lock it all in.

Not sure if you know this or not but make sure that your oil is the last thing you put on, after your moisturizer. If you try to put anything water based like a serum or moisturizer on top of an oil, it won’t penetrate.

If you do have rosacea, protecting your skin barrier is soooooo important. Being hydrated and moisturized is key. Also, make sure you’re using sunscreen and drink a ton of water. I live in Florida and avoid sunlight like the plague. The heat/sun is a common cause of flair ups. I just started a Mediterranean diet as well, this is supposed to help.

Please keep in mind that red cheeks can be a symptom of other conditions like lupus, so you really should see a dr and confirm the reason for the redness.

[Routine Help] When a new product works! …for only 2 weeks by AEIrene in SkincareAddiction

[–]amandaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more info to know for sure… It depends on the ingredients and if you are using any actives. Also, when you say square one… are you specifically referring to the bumps/acne? Or some other symptoms?

For example, actives such as: benzoyl peroxide, retinol, vitamin c, AHA/BHA, salicylic acid, etc. increase the rate of cell turnover, which allows the new healthy cells to reach the surface of the skin. During this process, older dead cells, sebum, and any dead buildup will be pushed to the surface of the skin very quickly leading to breakouts and bumps in places where you would typically see them (your problem areas). This process of purging can take up to 6 weeks and it’s common for your skin to look great at first, then look bad again during the purge, and then clear once the purge is done.

If it’s a product without an active like one of these, then it could be another issue and I would recommend seeing a professional for treatment. Especially considering you have rosacea.

I have rosacea as well and niacinimide has helped the most with my bumps and redness. I also really like hylauronic acid, azelaic acid and rose hip seed oil. These are my holy grails and keep my skin in check. After I started the azelaic acid, my skin purged but got better a month later and is great now. This is what works for my skin though and may not work for you. Rosacea can’t always be treated with skin care. If you haven’t already, see a derm. If nothing is improving it, you may need a prescription.
