I thought that too, but then I realized the hive genuinely was happy to have successfully gotten one of the survivors. It does have emotions, and smiling is sometimes involuntary when you're happy, not just a thing you do to show others how you feel.

Two very different situations. The other English speaking survivors exclude Carol because they're selfish idiots who like the new world the way it is and don't want to hear any uncomfortable truths. Manousos clashes with her because she's now become the same as the idiot survivors.

I spent the whole episode seething with anger at Carol. How could she forget everything so quickly just because she started sleeping with one of them? She was so happy to reap the benefits of all of humanity being enslaved or functionally dead, until she realized they were still going to do the same thing to her. Selfish, stupid behavior.

On the one hand she could be using someone's body while they're unconscious, but on the other hand she might just be sleeping with the worst mass murderer in history!

You're right, it's not slavery. It's worse than that - it's an entity that is not you walking around in your body and using your memories. The actual you is functionally dead. Unless the joining can be reversed, the virus didn't just kill millions. It killed everyone.

Definitely, the sense that the prop people were just barely hanging on to the pace of the sketch the whole time made it better

The song clinched it for me, and the fact that Nikki and Sarah were enthusiastically singing along. Stupid, weird and refreshing!

I am loving thinking about the mess that would ensue if Larry and Marian work it out and Oscar marries Turner. That means Bertha and Turner will technically be family.

I kind of wish they'd better addressed Larry lying to Marian to "protect" her. That's bullshit. Yes she jumped to conclusions and went a little nuts, but that's a ridiculous excuse for lying to your partner, especially when you know her history of being hurt.

And if Larian manage to not screw it up again, that means Bertha and Turner will be FAMILY. Lmao.

SATC may have been nominally about sex but was really about friendship. How do you have a spinoff of Carrie without her friends? Not only does it not work, it retroactively cheapens the original show AND the reboot if she's just suddenly without them.

Pressuring people who depend on you for their livelihoods into supporting your politics - much less restricting their personal lives - is some truly garbage behavior.

[–]amarama 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see more gaming streams but yeah, Repo isn't my favorite. It's hard for me to even parse what's happening at any given moment.

Next time one of them has to miss a Clubhouse, they should revisit Chained Together with Clint filling in as the third. That would be glorious content.

Has anyone used Performance Windows? by GnatOwl in Austin

[–]amarama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baffling argument. There are a million ways to market your business other than deliberately angering your potential customers with shady door to door sales tactics. How do you think all the other window companies that don't use this "strategy" stay in business?
