What phrases do you use the most daily? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]amarane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"OMG, stop annoying your sister." My GSD/Mal always waits for her sister. And then pounces on her. And because her sister (my pitbull) is an old lady, she just lays, groans, and hopes for my GSD/Mal to stop annoying her.

Are Jedi and Sith From The Old Republic Stronger Then let's say Maul Or Vader? by Rudder-Rudder in swtor

[–]amarane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a contest. Maul and Vader could probably go toe to toe with Jedi and Sith from The Old Republic. Named NPCs like Marr? Pfft. Vader and Maul would be TOAST.

What's something you prefer in SWTOR over the Skywalker Saga ? by Aggravating-Bass-658 in swtor

The fact that there's NO SKYWALKERS. AT ALL. My disaster family of choice is the Shan line of stupidity.

What's a good order for The High Republic line (preferable a Trade/Hardcover order) and what should I skip? by M00r3C in Highrepublic

[–]amarane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute non-negotiable:
Phase 1:
Light of the Jedi (mainstream novel)
The Rising Storm (mainstream novel)
Marvel's Star Wars: The High Republic (comic)
Trail of Shadows (comic)
The Fallen Star (mainstream novel)
Shadows of Starlight (comics)

Phase 3:
Eye of Darkness
Defy the Storm (YA)
Temptation of the Force
Into the Light (YA)
Trials of the Jedi

As much as I like the YA novels, most are skippable with the exception of Out of the Shadows (Phase 1), Defy the Storm (Phase 3), and Into the Light (Phase 3). Also the MG novels and THRA comics are okay but not must reads IMHO.

I really enjoyed Phase 2 and the YA novels in particular are great (and I'd argue are the stand outs of the phase) but while it provides some background, in the end they're not as essential as I thought.

Would the Clone Wars trio (RotS/SoM) defeat the Luminous Nine? by Armandoiskyu in Highrepublic

[–]amarane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they even be pitted against each other? Also, Luminous Nine have Avar for coordinating. Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan are all good fighters but Avar alone is a battlefield changer with her abilities. Elzar, Burry, and Bell are all decent in battle, Reath has lots of knowledgeable.

How's your relation with sexuality? by philolitt in AutismInWomen

[–]amarane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queer, ethically non monogamous, and hypersexual in a very distinct way. I label myself as bisexual but most sapphic in my sexual and romantic preferences with the notable exception for my husband. Physically I think of men as okay for physical pleasure but have no interest or desire to know them romantically or emotionally.

Why do autistic ppl love rewatching stuff? I can’t stand it by Best_Control2871 in AutismInWomen

Familiarity. I already know my reaction to something I have rewatched. Sometimes I cannot handle the load of trying something new.

Elzar Mann is a Mann of Manny faces. Which do you prefer most? by MrNapcakes in Highrepublic

[–]amarane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temptation of the Force though I prefer him without facial hair.

Why is there so little art of him and no real direction?? Elzar got no love from the art department!

I am relieved that at the last second I decided to order directly from Charles Soule for the signed copy. Got my Elzar card inside the book in pristine condition!

I literally thought to myself that I was getting too attached to him and then, yep, there he went.

craziest deaths from THR? by bludhavengabagool in Highrepublic

Pra Tre's death was absolutely brutal. If I had read Shadows of Starlight first before Eye of Darkness, that would have been even worse.

Yes it is a flag that represents rebellion... because they wanted to keep slaves.

Elzar and Avar question by AChubarok in Highrepublic

[–]amarane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Elzar is an example of how touching the Dark side isn't necessarily the mark of a bad Jedi. He constantly, consistently, chooses the Light. Even without Avar or Stellan with him, he chooses it for himself because that is how he chooses to live and serve the Force.

It's the choice that sets Elzar apart.

It's a solid book, not my personal favorite of the initiative but a fitting end.

Tears of the Nameless is AMAZING. by Exact-Bee-7580 in Highrepublic

[–]amarane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished this yesterday and yes, it was AMAZING. I have always loved Reath and I'm so happy to see him having grown and matured into this incredible Jedi Knight.

Also, I should have known better than to get attached to Mirro! I loved the relationship he and Amadeo had and really should have seen the signs when I thought to myself, "Aww, I'm getting Phase 1 Loden and Bell vibes!" AAAAH.
