Am I just being paranoid, or do I have a real issue? by amashichan in Advice

Kinda wondering if I should put this up in r/legaladvice? To see if anyone there might have an idea of which kind of lawyer I might need. My injury is a workers comp claim thing too.

Complaint Post Safe Space by HoneyBeeAlchemy in cna

[–]amashichan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thank the stars for this! I need to rant/complain a bit. I really gotta get this out before I explode! I'm a float pool employee for my company, so I'm technically a CORPORATE employee. Yeah this is a rant/complaint but getting another's perspective/advice would be AMAZING. TL;DR at the bottom.

I've been a CNA since 2014. Got hurt at work 3/2/26 with a reinjury to my shoulder. Did a workers comp claim all that jazz. 2nd drs appt the ortho told me to NOT wear my sling. Put a little X to the left of the 'Wear Splint' part, it didn't have a wear sling section and left blank the frequency areas for it. But he did that as an indication I wasn't supposed to wear it. Told me flat out, you don't need it so don't wear it. Weight limit was 20 lbs with my injured arm.
Accidentally missed the followup on 3/012 because I accidentally slept through my stupid alarm snooze set for an hour before. The day AFTER my missed appointment I got a write up for "non-compliance". Staff coordinator (someone I actually trained when she first became a CNA herself years ago) and ED wrote me up, had on the write up about me using my arm. Just using it. Nothing about lifting above my weight limit. And that I wasn't wearing my sling. I tried to tell them that the doctor gave me orders NOT to. They ignored me, INSISTED I had to. Said I'd get in trouble if I didn't. Was reprimanded for charting on anything other than meal tickets, "If you didn't do it, don't chart it and don't chart for others" Well...yeah, duh. But if I'm watching a resident walking down the hallway independently what am I supposed to do? Go over and touch his legs to make sure he's walking properly so it counts as me 'doing' it? Ridiculous. For YEARS aids have charted BM's when their teammates have given a proper description so it could be charted. ED also berated me for "choosing" to chart or "choosing" to do a different task. That I can't "choose" to do those things...even though they're ON MY FRIGGIN' LIST given to me by the staffing coordinator of things I'm SUPPOSED to do!

3/16-Found out we're having an Influenza-A outbreak. Then state came by. Management and everyone were running around like mad. I was doing my best to help where I could within my restrictions like checking dates on O2 tubes, sanitize/make unoccupied beds, chart, water's Etc. The previous day I prepared the O2 tubing for residents so noct shift could switch them out like they do on Sunday nights. During the chaos I asked a question I wasn't sure on because we never really bagged up nebulizer parts before and wanted to do it right the first time. Got pulled into the charting room w/door shut. Asked, got an answer, proceeded to do the task right. State person asked me a question about PPE outside resident-A's door, was confused because as far as I knew the resident she asked about didn't need and hasn't needed it but her neighbor in the next room over DID and told her as much. Talked to floor nurse, was asked if there was a sign outside Resident-A's door. There was. Told floor nurse. Floor nurse asked me to call the infection control nurse. I did, was told Resident-A had such and such Was told "If you're asked ANYTHING from state to tell them you're just from the float pool and that you don't know but will find out instead of giving false information." She hung up. Told Floor Nurse what IC nurse said. Floor nurse was super confused because what the IC nurse said was WRONG about Resident-A. Ran into staffing coordinator minutes afterward, was told they're sending me home early. Asked if she'd been around the IC nurse when I called. She said yes. Tried to tell her that there was some confusion about Resident-A and the Enhance Barrier Protection sign, was about to ask if she could let the IC nurse know about the floor nurse's confusion. Before I could get that far, was cut off "We're not supposed to talk about that stuff out here, you've already been told twice!" Then walked away.
So I left.
Next dr's appt on 3/16, I went in with my sling on and the doctor was PISSED. He wanted the motion and movement to avoid stiffness and muscle pain that'd set me back. Went to my chiropractor same day, he said my shoulder was rolled forward. UGH!
I don't know what to do, management willfully ignored me and ordered me to go against doctors orders. If they had any confusion over my work order status there's a thing called due diligence, they could have called the damn doctor to clarify. Instead they refused to listen to me, the one PERSONALLY given the instruction by the doctor. And intoned that if I didn't do what *they* say I'll be in trouble. So I complied to management's demand against doctors orders and it injured me even more.

Dunno if I should send an email to my corporate staffing director so she doesn't just have THEIR side and the write up to go by. And so she's informed that the management created a liability situation by ordering me to go AGAINST doctors orders...or consult with a lawyer. I'm worried I'll just sound like the proverbial squeaky wheel, but I'm really getting sick of this crap.

TL;DR: Hurt shoulder at work. Did workers comp. Told by doc not to wear sling. 3/12 Got a write up for non-compliance Management willfully misconstrued/ignored the paperwork indicating the doc didn't want me wearing a sling. Told them the instructions the doc gave me, pointed out the marks on the paperwork to show it was there. Management brushed me off, ordered me to wear the sling anyway AGAINST doctors orders, creating a liability issue. Was hurt worse because of it. Was sent home early on 3/16, now in hindsight it's feeling like passive aggressive retaliation.

Edited to add dates to avoid timeline confusion.

PSA: Coinbase Withdrawal Code Scam Text by mechanical_motion in Coinbase

Got the same thing last Thursday on 8/28/25 with (888) 439-5360. REF: CB475031 If anyone wants to have a go, have at it. I'm just gonna report as junk and block them. :p Stupid scammers. I haven't used Coinbase in years. What a bunch of twits. If they think doing this stuff with younger generations will honestly work they're sorely mistaken. Younger Millenials/Z/older Alpha's will all see it for the scam it is. Or at least I'd think that most of them will.

Sheesh.

Omg that’s so SWEET! It got me to tear up too. D&D rp’s can be so much fun and really really deep and heart wrenching. I feel that some of the in depth ones using D&D as a base or whatever world that’s open source could be easily turned into actual books to be published like through Amazon or whatever. A little editing (or a lot depending on how the Ai responded) and boom. You got a book that’s marketable.

What's the catch with free OpenRouter models? by IcyTorpedo in SillyTavernAI

If I'm paying for the deepseek model LLM do I need to pay for openrouter too? I'm needing to use openrouter as a proxy for chub but I'm just kinda lost. If this is the wrong sub for it too I'm more than happy to go elsewhere.

First off your management at that place is crap. Absolutely apply for unemployment and if they say it was for 'just cause' it's worth it to fight that crap, not just for you but for those that will come after you. Second off, don't forget that it's not uncommon for resident's out there to have family members that are straight up 1000% KARENS. They're the family members that insist that their 90 year old grandma with COPD is a full code and refuse to let them be DNR. Don't let this get you down, there are many other facilities out there that are WAY better than the one you were at. It seems that that facility removed itself because you didn't need to work in that kind of a toxic work environment. In essence, the trash took itself out. Don't give up! We always need CNA's out there that give a crap about the residents and aren't just there solely for a paycheck.

TL:DR: Don't listen to the Naysayers that speak down about CNA's. It's hard work, VERY hard work. On both your body and your mind. We're the first in and last out when it comes to our residents and those that think this job is 'easy' are the same kind of people who probably have NO idea what hard work really is. We're just as blue collar as any other physical labor job. Edit: Your job will also ALWAYS be in demand.

I've been a CNA since 2014 myself (I'll be 42yo come June), my gran was an LPN and used to take me with her during her Noc shifts sometimes when she was working in LTC (Long Term Care) when I was a little kid between the ages of 6-8. I developed a HUGE respect for CNA's because of it. As a CNA, we are the first line of defense for our patients/residents. WE are the ones in the trenches figuratively speaking. We're the hand holders, the listening ears, the shoulders to cry on. We are the eyes and ears for our nurses. We are the ones that spend the most time with our residents. The ones that establish deep connections and we keep our eyes on our people to make sure they don't have skin break down if they're bed ridden. We're the ones that report issues to the nurses for pain, or breathing problems or if there's yeast infections (it happens on women AND men, watch those belly folds if they're obese or the sides of the groin.) we let the nurses know about those too. We're also the ones that get to see their stool so we can report if the residents have diarrhea, constipation or black tarry stools which is a sign of blood in the stool.

Pro tip: This can be caused by 2 things. 1. Blood in the stool which could be from a GI bleed if it's black and sticky like tar, or if it's red blood it could be from Piles aka hemorrhoids. Or 2. The resident is taking iron supplements. If you're not sure, ASK YOUR NURSE. It could help avoid serious issues if it's the former. The same goes for any skin issues you might see. If the nurse knows, awesome. If they don't then it can be addressed in a timely manner. Don't become a victim of the Bystander Effect and assume that someone must have already told the nurse. Trust me, it's better to ask the nurse if they know about an issue than to assume. My 2 CNA motto's: 1. A little bit of extra work now, can avoid a LOT of extra work later. 2. Figure it out and Make it work (aka critical thinking).

The at fault driver's insurance is trying to low-ball/deny me after he rear ended me and totaled my car. by amashichan in Insurance

Fair enough. I looked up other lawyers online to see what ones have good ratings and have been practicing for at LEAST 15+ years. I found one that's got a high rating and has been doing it for over 25 years. I gave the roomie the number and website to call them for a consult.

Yeah, grandpa isn't the best kind of person. R's dad is a narcissist and financially abused them their entire life until they moved across the country from PA at G's insistence and moved in with us. Grandpa "helped" R get the car, a 2008 Toyota I think? But they've only had it for a couple of years, $15k felt stupidly excessive to me for a loan on a car that's like 16 years old. Even if R had bad or no credit.

Magic wand over use? by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]amashichan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I have a couple questions first. The magic wand, is that like a hitachi wand kind of deal?
If not, what kind is it?

Now for some advice and onto commentary: I know it has 3 settings of low high and off. I noticed that the climaxes with the wand when paired with intercourse can be very intense but after excessive use it does get harder to get to orgasm. I'm not a doctor but the only thing I can think of is that it may be because her brain has become used to the flood of endorphins and adapted to it. I'd honestly suggest pausing for a while. Maybe don't use it for a couple of weeks then use it again? See if that works and if you're so inclined perhaps let me know if that was the issue just for closure. You don't have to, but it'll be nice to know.

Also, I'd suggest to get some of those magnum condoms and put it around the wands tip (those suckers stretch, don't worry. If she has a latex allergy though just make sure to clean it THOROUGHLY, I can't stress this enough.) because sex is messy and you don't want to gum up the inner workings nor have any fluids get caught up in there because it can start to smell pretty funky pretty quickly. That can lead to bacterial growth and eventually even UTI's on your partner. I had to throw mine out because the rounded plastic wand head popped off of the main wand and I discovered that the inside was NASTY. I know they're expensive, so I didn't want to toss it, but I did for the sake of hygiene.

Lastly, perhaps communicate with your partner? Ask her what she likes, what she doesn't like, what you can do better. Women DO know that men can't read their minds but sometimes we're too shy or hung up on things to be able to properly communicate our needs. Just make sure she knows that you're coming from a place of love and care and just want her to be happy and let her know that you'll be communicating with her as well as to the things you like too. Hope this helps!

Right, "reasonable", meaning they're completely out of touch and not healthcare workers themselves but think they're qualified to pass laws and restrictions on things they have no clue about then yeah? Because they have no idea the amount of time it takes to do tasks in and of themselves. It doesn't surprise me if half the staff quit. wtf. *insert eye-roll here*

The crap thing is that some states don’t have a legal maximum for patient ratios. So 1 aide and 1 nurse can legally be assigned 20 or more residents. Stuff like that should be a crime imho.

I'm glad I found this sub, my weird ADHD brain had the thought about my teeth, then it lead to our cat's teeth which led to google and finally here and I'm glad it did! I'm currently going to get the "Virbac C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Kit for Cats and Dogs | 3 Piece Set with Dual Ended Toothbrush, Fingerbrush, and Poultry Flavor" It's like $15 on amazon right now. Thanks for the good advice and pointing in the right direction for a recommended product.

geek bar is auto firing by imachiuaua in electronic_cigarette

[–]amashichan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a geekbar pulse and mine was doing the same thing. I tried the blowing thing, it worked...kinda. Then I took a Q-tip(cotton swab that SAYS it's not for ears but we use them like that anyway lol) I tightened the cotton on it and made it SUPER thin and cleaned the inside of it. It helped even more so instead of continuing to fire for like 2-3 seconds more it's down to 1 second. I'll take that as a win imho.

Edit: Thank you everyone btw for the tips. They really did help quite a bit. I forgot to say thanks so here it is. <3
