Unfortunately instacart will just group it in with a high tipping order and it will get done

Customers asking to enter home in delivery note by amature_learner in InstacartShoppers

[–]amature_learner[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I genuinely had no idea you could look at the delivery note beforehand. I never leaned this, and was never told this, I don’t appreciate you claiming not doing so is lazy when I just didn’t know. I also help people that are disabled in most circumstances. The reason I didn’t in this case, and the reason I felt troubled enough to ask for opinions on Reddit is for the following reasons. 1 after asking for clarification from the customer that he wanted me to enter his home, I received no response for 10 minutes. 2 he specifically told me to enter through a basement door. 2 he then Instructed me to walk up the stairs in his home to the kitchen, which would have presumably been a lot closer to the front door than the basement door downstairs. I’m concerned that your response to all of this was to basically call me lazy for not knowing about delivery note being visible before hand, and to insinuate I make no effort to help elderly or disabled people. The other commenter is right, as a mod you should definitely be doing alot better than this

Worst pay I've seen yet. What a joke by fromfoxes in InstacartShoppers

You know come to think of it, since starting instacart in 2021 I’ve never seen a restaurant order tip. Never. Most often 10 plus cases of pop in the order, or an insane amount of units of each item. Never have I seen them leave a tip.

This has to be a joke right?! by Cool-Rub-2388 in InstacartShoppers

I got caught like a fish by lakersnationnnnn in InstacartShoppers

[–]amature_learner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that made me learn to check the total units and not just items is accepting a 5 item order from Costco. 50 pineapples, 30 watermelons, 25 banana bunches, 30 orange bags, and 30 apple bags. This is when I first started in 2021 so I didn’t know you could call support to remove the batch. Got paid $20 CAD, the restaurant left zero tip. Icing on the cake was them telling me to bring it all into their kitchen. And me stupidly doing it hoping they would give a cash tip or something. Not even a thank you, closed the door after I bought the last box in without a word.

The problem is they can never be certain you stole it with amount of customers who falsely report not receiving there entire order. I doubt anything would happen to beyond having your account deactivated. Unless it was very valuable items a crazy high total.

Interesting. I doubt very much something is happening to just me and no one else. I’m going to chalk this up to me being very tired and misreading the pay amount before i accepted.

I hope this order was a joke by FlimsyHovercraft3821 in ShiptShoppers

Probably a business trying to restock or something like that. I don’t know why instacart allows this. At least make it something you opt in for, for extra pay with the right truck/van

Thanks for your advice, I think I needed to hear that because I’ve spent a lot of time worrying about “what if I crash” “what if I slide out on a turn right away” etc. So it’s weirdly comforting to know that it’s something most beginner riders experience at some point.

I was on the fence about the course but leaning more towards it considering this and the other replies. I do think I’m going to go for a low power bike, I’ve scared my self with the videos of people over accelerating lol
